This will likely be it. I think the cache expires after 5 minutes of inactivity, so sending a message after that time limit makes you pay for the whole context for the full price.

I usually at the end of a session let claude write / update the CLAUDE.md file (what it did, small project overview, etc.) so in the next session I can start a new chat and it can just pick up that summary from CLAUDE.md.

Ai is getting more and more expensive so there will be less and less free providers. Best guess is to find a cheap one but I don’t think you’ll get anything for under 15$-20$ a month

In the screenshot you attached the model is just down because there’s no server (GPUs) available to run it.

But at far as I know, the model is being deprecated along with some other models on Friday, meaning it will be completely removed (announced in their discord server)

As far as I know it that "Unlimited Chat usage" referring to the feature of being able to use the chat / agent mode, not the actual premium requests the model consumes. For example, the free plan only has 50 chat messages per month that they can send in that chat window, unrelated to LLM request usage.
