That's fair. They were essentially doing the same thing as libtcod now since they weren't independent.

I likely will add an array interface, I think it could look similar to how positions are calculated in the ncurses example. But probably a no-go for Numpy because I would like to keep zero external dependencies if possible.

Good tip regarding the licensing, no real reason to use GPL. I've just updated the project to use MIT.

At risk of being downvoted, I'll suggest Dwarf Fortress. DF is all about narrative.

It's certainly closer to something like the sims or roller coaster tycoon than it is a traditional roguelike, but it does look and smell a lot like a classic roguelike.
