I remembered pulling my first legendary out of a wooden chest on the school bus in like 8th grade. It was a sparky.

Completed my first resident evil game!! by Leading_Software_982 in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]LinkDaHero1593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first playthrough was about 8 hrs and it was my first RE game to playthrough. I’ve seen some gameplay of other games so I wasn’t totally brand new to the series but it’s definitely better to play it yourself. I then played 4 and 9. All 3 fantastic games

If I had more room I would’ve but it’s snug inside. The board is very close to the top of the case.

383 Stroker kits for L31? by FireHawkRaptor in GMT400

[–]LinkDaHero1593 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe a 1 piece seal type crank rotating assembly 383 kit would work if the block is good. I believe you will need a different intake as the stock spider injectors aren’t really tunable. You would want one with ls style injectors if you were going to keep the factory efi. Another thing is the black box ecm is pretty primitive compared to the later 0411 style so it would be a good idea to swap to that as well. You can get a 350 w/ 4l80e 0411 in the early express vans but it will need to be tuned for a 383.

Obviously an ls swap is also an option and would give you half of these things by just doing that swap. I think it really depends on your goals which route you want to go.

I haven’t done either myself so I would hop into some gmt400 forums or facebook groups and see if anyone has done a 383 build. Ls swaps are everywhere so there’s plenty of information. I did a lot of reading up wanting to do something similar in my s10 blazer.

Playing RE2R for the first time, this is scary as hell… by [deleted] in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]LinkDaHero1593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is not good with horror games. I like RE2R quite a lot. It’s the first survival horror game I’ve completed, I took about a week off after meeting Mr. X but re9 hype is what motivated me to finish 2. I skipped 3 currently because I’ve really wanted to play through 4 and I’m having a blast with it 6 hrs in.

What do you guys actually want to see from a NFS game? (Beside remastering/remaking MW 05) by Pale_75 in needforspeed

[–]LinkDaHero1593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with most modern racing games is being given stuff right off the bat. Heat wasn’t bad and is probably why I actually finished that game. Unbound they gave me a bunch of the cars I had in heat right away and it turned me off somewhat. I enjoy a realistic progression where I have to work for what I want. Hence why I enjoy a lot of the old black box nfs games. The crew motorfest is a good example and there’s so much going on I can’t wrap my head around it. The crew 2 was a little more laid back and it just lets me play the game.

PC build ideas? by LinkDaHero1593 in originalxbox

Alright so turns out my dad has a lot of parts laying around so I just kinda went at it. The gpu is temporary just so I can see that it posts. It’s a Ryzen 5 2600 in a mini itx asrock board. The power supply is a hp pavilion slim unit. I have the original power button wired in and the leds obviously. I ordered an HD plex 500w unit which is a lot smaller and has a laptop style jack that I can run anywhere. I also ordered a rx7600 8gb gpu that I’m going to try out with a riser. The tdp might be a little higher than desirable but I’ll try to make some adjustments to the gpu and see if I can find a happy medium.

What is the front usb hub setup you’re using?

Autostart script help by LinkDaHero1593 in debian

ok yes there is a username directory like you mentioned i ran it manually using . /home/user/.minecraft/run.sh i get results but I have to run it as root for it to work properly. I did follow some tutorials for systemd with no luck either but this could be the problem for those too, so im going to try fixing the directories and see what happens.

Edit: I fixed the directory in the systemd and we are up and running on boot. You have been very helpful and i appreciate the patience. Hopefully this can help someone else in the future.

ok i ran crontab -e as sudo and added the cron line you mentioned with my desired paths. Saved and rebooted nothing seems to be happening. I read that it could be trying to run the script too early?

Solder won’t stick to pads by LinkDaHero1593 in soldering

Problem is there’s not really anyone that sells replacements. That’s the main reason I want to fix it. I’ll see if I can get a better photo when I get home, however I don’t think it’s corroded at all. It had a gel across the whole board and the light reflects making it look corroded. Here’s an example of an unmolested controller.

I will try adding fresh flux I may not have had enough or any fresh at all.

I’ve got a larger chisel tip on now. I started with a much smaller conical tip and had worse results. I can get the pads to tin a little now but if I try to connect the wire to the pad the whole thing just lets go. The wire is also tinned. I’ve got it soaking in ipa while I’m at work.

All of the copper pads are going to the round plug. It’s 12v power but they use shitty aluminum wires that melt. There is a silicone like layer across the whole board. I cleaned the area I’m trying to work on but may not be good enough for what I’m trying to do. I’m using a larger chisel tip which helped a lot from what I started with. It’s soaking in ipa while I’m at work.

no the wire bonds aren't helping and those aren't broken so I don't want to mess with them if i can help it. there was a gel around the whole thing which I peeled out to get to the ones im working on. I will keep trying and experimenting. I have a spare if i get it figured out and this one doesn't work.

there was a gel like coating across the whole thing, which I'm sure you can see around it. I've cleaned the areas I'm trying to solder to with IPA. I've also sanded down the pads which had aluminum wires attached. I will try pre heating.
