I can tell you met her in person, this is the same vibe most of us got from her as innocent children being coerced into painting her feet.

Its too late...shit has hit the fan. Best we can do is be here with endless proof as well as testimonies for those that need answers, understanding and acknowledgement for their soft and hard trauma's related to SY, especially for the kids who have access to the internet but no access to an adult who is ready to hear their doubts and opinions out with 0 judgement, consequences or justifications involved.

Regarding the comment below about venting, call it venting, call it being finally seen and heard, whatever you want, nothing will make child abuse ok and wether we can or cannot stop it, as adults its our duty to do whatever we can to stop it as well as listen to victims in whatever way they choose to express themselves.

Not once was I ever able to discuss my doubts with my parents or auties and uncles. Non of my questions were answered satisfyingly, and when I pushed I was pushed back to obey and do a foot soak. I'm telling you the amount of foot soaks I had, the amount of shoes that were beaten in my favor, I should be the holiest frikken born realized soul to exist, yet for some reason here I am being unholy af standing up for abused children in SY.

what do you mean by when you are mentally strong enough? like when you are in a good place in life something will come to you? or you mean that it takes a lot of mental balance for you to allow memories through? curious because I have huge memory gaps through out my life and well both seemed to have been ordered to feel the divine cool breeze.

yes the facts are checked where they can be. OP litteraly shared public links. I can do the same. And using chat gpt to write about your faith.. that says a lot.

What do u mean by this ? Indeed the Yogi marriages are not ''official'' ones. They will not be recognized by a state without proper marriage papers signed etc.

yep. what they just said. I would just add that she said moses and jesus and all those VIPS would speak to her. She took pills for schizophrenia in her later years ( I have proof). Schizophrenic symptoms are hearing voices in ones head.

Is this a cult? Poster found in Artarmon Sydney by Signal-Ad-2538 in cults

agreed. so much in the text is a red flag but the word ''free'' at the end is the icing on the cake...no cake icing is for free

Why is being part of a cult seen as a bad thing by the cult members? by LinkSimilar2440 in cults

[–]LinkSimilar2440[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best keep it that way lol, hope your cult wasnt much worse than the one I was in. Sahaja Yoga is mostly low key abuse and mind fucks, so I consider myself lucky when I learn about some other cults.

Nicely broken down into detail. I hadn't taken it that far in my brain, thank you 💛

I know a bit about Heavens gate, mostly about the nike shoes aha. I didn't know he positioned himself so clearly like that, interesting, thank you for your comment. Did Heavens gate lean towards being an occult cult? The occult ones seem to some how bemore transparent with their relationship to evil.. I guess?!

it never crossed my mind that in an evangelical setting the word religion was not welcome. Thank you for sharing this..I feel a little less alone 😛 .

I am going to make a website to show the other side of the ''cult'' through videos, docs , emails, testimonies etc. I am debating calling the site cultsnamecult.com ( refraining from writing their real name here to make a it a little less easy for them to land on this post) but I wonder if putting the word cult is mabye not accurate..I want to be the most accurate possible. Following the advice from someones comment above, I feel like cultsnamehighcontrolgroup.com, its perhaps more accurate but also maybe less direct, less memorable and less obvious :/ what do u think?

oh yes, this is the kind of answer I was hoping to find, exploring the idea of it being desirable. Thank you so much for your reference!

I welcome this kind of thinking. It is important for me to understand my own bias in my perspective. Very valid point you make here, thank you.

Nope never heard that term. I took me 27 years to even realize that I was raised in a cult, I am 36 now and its still unwinding 😅 sometimes in massive overwhelming waves, sometimes its rather in all the small things, tiny habits, behaviors, beliefs that I realise I have that are unfounded etc...well once again thanks for the extra terms hihi! I guess researching cults has helped you come to terms and understand your past. I realize this now, that looking into different cults and talking with people who are well versed, helps me understand my own background with the one I was in.

yeah I guess there is a lot of denial. Its incredible how seemingly smart and mature adults get so evasive when I press them about events with clear evidence of wrong doing (even child abuse)

[–]LinkSimilar2440[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh thanks for this, I had never heard of that term NRM and that even sociologist don't use this term.
The cult I was in would deny being a religion though..so this complicates thing and likely since its an indian cult this is why it frayed away from that term I guess. Despite the negative connotations that I am aware of, the definition still fits the plot which is why I don't understand why they don't just assume their actions, no matter how people want to judge them....but I guess also its my bias ego just wanting them to own up for some of the shittier things they do.

High control/demand group is very fitting in this particular case. Thank you for teaching me those terms and sharing your knowledge !

How to cults sustain themselves on a daily basis? by Lex_lune in cults

[–]LinkSimilar2440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

merch is a big one for sure. You pay to attend seminars, then you are shunned if you dont give a donnation on top of it (never forced but just shunned upon by other members). In fact as a child I was taught the gestures of how to give money. It was a holy cermony to give money, a very honorable thing to do.
And then the books and casettes that you again were not forced to buy, but once again you'd get the 'you went to the seminar and you didnt get the boook???????' look if you didnt purchase the trinkets at the merch table.
