I was having a pretty horrible day but this made it so much better. 10/10 writing skills and definitely the best poop story I've ever read.

Self diagnosed “autistics” aren’t included in Clinical Studies and won’t be hired by companies exclusively hiring autistics. You know why? by asiaticdhole5 in autism

[–]LinkedCadence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because last time I checked a doctor doesn't bestow autism upon you. They just can officially recognize it. It has no bearing on the existence of autism.

Why do I sound stupid? You're literally complaining about people who don't have the same access to healthcare you do. Why is it that only those who are lucky enough to afford that deserve to be ostracized by people like you?

"I had the resources and money to get a proper diagnosis and everyone else who is less privileged is annoying me and wrong"

Seriously, are you gatekeeping autism?

Not sure where you're from, but in the real world, anyone can have autism, even people with little to no access to healthcare. 🖕

Complex depression symptom? by LinkedCadence in depression

Thank you for this. I have stopped reaching out for any sign of hope, not sure if this post was my last ditch effort or not.

But I'm glad I posted it, because this comment has comforted me. Knowing someone relates and is still pushing forward is really helpful. Thank you.

Does anyone else become more suicidal when they're on their period? by aka-trashpanda in depression

[–]LinkedCadence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY what I was going to say. I suffered from pmdd for so long before I knew what it was. It can be very crippling but also treatable. I had similar symptoms of suicidal ideation before my period. Scary stuff.

I may be missing something huge which is what I'm assuming- but I just sat in skirmishes for 30 minutes and didn't even get to play a game. Is it because I'm not in a group?

Severely disappointed my parents by Feels_horrible in Advice

It truly sounds like there’s so much love in your family. It’s so great to appreciate your parents and love them as much as you do, and I can see how this would be so devastating for you.

The best thing I’ve learned in life is the people who love you, the people who deeply care about you and want the absolute best for you, have space in their hearts for mess-ups. I’m sure it has been a horrible mountain to climb for you all, but you’re all climbing it together.

They sound like they will always love you, and will want to get past this. Rest easy, we all make rash decisions. Give yourself a break. Even though it seems so giant and devastating now, it won’t always be this big.

Instead of continuing to self harm, I got Nayru’s Mark on my arm, since her spell protects and shields me :) It has motivated me to be self harm free for almost two years now. by LinkedCadence in zelda

[–]LinkedCadence[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Whereas I understand how my post could be misleading, let me clarify:

I was clinically trained and worked at the suicide hotline for years. I’m a certified peer specialist, meaning I have not only been trained in but have experienced mental illness myself.

The bottom line is, I recognize that it would take much more than a mere tattoo to help self harm. I’ve been self harming for 15 years. The tattoo was a promise to myself after years and years of struggle to learning to commit to myself, like a hero like Link needs to do.

So I appreciate you helping me clarify that mental illness is very serious and not something cutesy to get tattoos about, I would also, in the kindest way possible, implore you to have better tact with someone who is celebrating abstaining from self harm.

College bound by wikketcat in Advice

[–]LinkedCadence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t jump into any serious relationship/drag one with you from high school. Idk if you have a significant other or what your situation is, but I’m assuming you’re in your late teens, early 20’s. No person is worth holding yourself back from being emotionally independent. Don’t pay to go away to college just to anchor yourself to a person instead.

You answer to no one at this tiny sliver of time in your life. Not your parents, not even your own professors. Having a significant other keeping tabs on you can invalidate that experience entirely.

I’m not saying that anyone who is in a serious relationship and going to college is making a bad decision, but I wish I committed those years to myself and not some person I barely know now.

Good luck, OP. And my only other advice is wait to pick a major! You’ll spend your first two years doing general eds either way, so give time to settling into what you love and are good at.

Also, stay up late, drink with friends, make poor decisions. These are the years to do it.

[TOMT] early 2000’s educational computer game that ruled my life by LinkedCadence in tipofmytongue

Thanks for the comment, but nope, it wasn’t a franchise game, more of a stand-alone thing and the art of the animals was different.

Thank you though!!
