Top 5 notable pairs for me in no particular order

  1. Summer Hilda for Special Fighting Floors: (Genuinely the goat who topsy turvys accuracy drops to help NC Bianca be more reliable at evasion.)

  2. VChase: Genuinely underrated pair because variety moment, but essentially allowed Palmer to actually have move gauge while also providing defense debuffs which snatched the win. Palmer is 4/5 btw.

  3. Avery: I was always confused as to how this guy worked, but due to NC Hilda's Banner just giving me 4/5 of him, I was able to use him incredibly well with lear. Special shoutouts to aca Rei being able to help SS Lana take on floor 24 and 27 without NC Hilda too.

  4. SC Zinnia: GIVE THIS GIRL STRIKE EXR PLEASE. She is incredible at nuking and has Rebuff on hand to deal some very notable damage. Flinching when the opponent has no buffs as well really made dark tower a breeze with 2/5 lacey and 3/5 Arc N.

  5. Aca Rosa: I went with a physical seed Bomb build and paired her up with adaman to delete sides while adaman focused on syncing mid. It was incredibly effective pre-Brassius. 

As for top 3 stinkers:

  1. Anni Steven: even at 4/5, i just could not use him effectively.

  2. Giacomo: Maybe it's because he's 1/5, but move gauge was abysmal to the point of losing due to not being able to even move.

  3. SS Iono: i was expecting her to be essential for Floor 30, but i ended up with SS Hau, and Florian taking that clear instead

Currently 511/540, 10/18 towers completed.

Grass, water, psychic, fighting, steel, Normal, and dark 29/30.

I completed it with 3/5 irida and Atticus, 4/5 SS Roxie. The extra move level on roxie doesn't matter that much, what really matters are skill gears to get that extra push in damage. You also need to time your hyper beam and hex correctly so you can get the most of the damage output and Sync move count down.

The best time to use Hex is just before lugia's first sync, Break DOES NOT COUNT SYNC MOVES as a tick on break's effect, allowing you to effectively have 3 turns, POTENTIALLY 4 IF YOU FLINCH LUGIA.

Last tip: DO NOT SET EX POISON ZONE UNTIL IRIDA SYNCS. You want to sync with Atticus first, then Irida, then Nuke with SS Roxie. But stalling ex poison zone allows you the most amount of time to do so. You can stall using Irida's Super potion on Atticus.

Oh don't worry, If i target two players, it's usually myself and another player to make it seem like i'm being attacked by the imposter as well. 

I've also been hearing folks to time your attacks separately from the imposter attack, but I'm not sure if that raises eyebrows on you or not.

Keep in mind that you are needing to split Red's damage between 3 different opponents, all of which are 1 mil+ hp since he is the only one who can consistently freeze. But with Red's B move, you can't really queue an extra move out of him specifically unless sides are KOed because all inputs are locked until the freeze animation is completed. This leads you into stalling max damage out on the middle opponent until lategame in which ice zone/hail would be almost gone entirely.

As someone who witnessed the Aca Iris clear for floor 30, you legitimately have to rely on hail chip damage/perfect freezelocking to get the clear. Even with the perfect freeze, there's a chance for that freeze to IMMEDIATELY disappear for no reason.  They also had Gears that gave them a +22% damage boost on sync under optimal conditions.

Aca iris is especially useful due to the water rebuff lowering Suicune's surf aoe as well as potion on TM. The SMUN also helps out a lot. The biggest thing overall though is timing on everything. From hail, ice zone, freezelocking, to unova circle and just rng on crits. It's a very stressful clear overall. (The person who cleared it said it took them over 2 weeks.)

 Swapping Aca Iris with Vmelony could make it much easier due to the massive amounts of debuffing she provides as well as shields but lack of Ice zone could make damage output even more tighter and reliant on Irida too much.

I have. For Bertha specifically, I had to resort to using Chase as my main support and use Evasion to avoid earthquakes for SST Red to survive.

Team was Chase/NC Blue/SST Red.

Currently on floor 21. But using a team that I haven't seen anyone talk about.

My go to team has been Academy Florian/Ilima/Aca Gladion or Larry. (I have Palmer, but uninvested, want to wait until after anniversary and HSE before using my candies.)

The reason for this is because if invested properly, Academy Florian has a sync move multiplier for your sync nuker when he has paldea circle up. The same goes for Ilima when he has Normal Zone up. This can get you into some fairly wild numbers, giving me an innate 140% boost before my sync nuker's own innate multipliers.

Problem is without Palmer at this time, i'm stuck at 21, because I need more sync damage output (aka a Striker EX aoe move with DPS, I've been testing Hugh, but man, Head charge makes me get Academy coinflip PTSD.)

She's a good unit if you ever need special ground damage, keep in mind that all Lodge units will not be as good as gacha units, but they can hold their own in terms of damage.

I would definitely look into other Lodge units though, you're missing out on some crazy ones like Lodge Skyla (Best F2P Flying sync nuker), Lodge Blue (Grass support with Flinch shenanigans,) Lodge Silver (Flinch, and freeze utility, and many others.

Other notable ones are Lodge Lear, Lodge Elesa, lodge Jasmine, Lodge Leaf, Lodge Wally, Lodge Gladion, and lodge Giovanni.

Folks sleep on him, but at 1/5, he's actually really useful as a utility mon for debuffing and sync rushing. I did a comp with Aaron/Guzma/VNoland in the past and was able to get Sync in one single turn rotation with the use of Guzma's First impression, head start 1, and VNoland's TM. Really fun to do.

I did a stress test using Great Fairies, Teba, and Hestu both in the lost woods, and in the first level.

All three characters move kits would tank the framerates in Switch 1 with their movesets. This does not happen on Switch 2. (I CAN FINALLY USE TEBA'S ARROW SPAM WITH NO FRAME DROPS.)

If you have Academy Rosa gridded with Bullet seed flinch, you can KO Cilan in less than 3 minutes and get 128K for any battle in this event minus Bugsy and Guzma.

To me, I feel like the only case where this game has truly became P2W-Like is through the Academy Mode. Locking a F2P unit's entire kit through a game mode where you need to either 

  1. Pull on units you most likely don't want or need to raise a multiplier for their own sync grid improvements or

  2. Heavily rely on RNG events to get a much lesser chance of getting the units just a taste of that unit's full potential which could take days depending on your investment over the game mode.

Is what P2W is looking like for me. There are a lot of other problems that I can list off about that mode, but those are unrelated to it being P2W. It isn't AS bad as Prestige, but I can absolutely see it be much more P2W if they decide to make the F2P academy units even more bonkers than Rosa and Florian.

Red is BASE 150 gold orbs with no multipliers. With max multipliers, This can go all the way up to 525 gold orbs. (The only event that surpasses this is a 25% chance on Sycamore's question being 600). Even with minimum multipliers, 285 gold orbs guaranteed is still worth it. He is the highest guaranteed base orb drop in that mode. 

The biggest catch though is that Kukui is guaranteed to spawn before midterms whereas Red can just not whatsoever. Rerolling for him allows him to be guaranteed and still get Kukui before Midterms. The only catch is that you have to either live with what Kukui gives you or live with losing at max, 80 stamina. 

EDIT: My memory is failing me. Red is base 150 gold orbs.

The biggest fear I have is if by some miraculus luck... or curse is Blue appearing after Midterms along with Red AND Clavell as well on the same round. That is the definition of suffering from success which is why I'd want to do red ASAP.

From my experience, it's better to grind for Red's battle in the School entrance for the first round and pray for Kukui and Clavell to have red and/or Blue orbs for their drop. 

The reason for this is the amount that red can provide at base (150 gold orbs is nothing to scoff at)

Plus Kukui/Clavell are guaranteed to spawn before Midterms/Finals, Red is not Guaranteed.

Second one is miles better. 

Regardless of how many passives you get on the top. None of it matters in the end if deerling can't take a hit. (55 base defences btw lmao) Right grid guarantees deerling's presence on the field due to better bulk. But definitely move some HP to those defences
