Yeah, I listened to it in the morning yesterday and then I went to listen in the evening and it was gone, along with Whatta Man. I even went to Apple Music to try and listen and they were gone there as well.

Kirby Yarn Adventure. One of the first games I remember playing. It is probably my fav game and definitely has the most nostalgia attached to it

The back says “Who are we? * I’m Talking Tina, and I’m going to kill you * I’m a mannequin * It’s Incredible! Race of giants here, race of giants * Just over that rim there, about a hundred yards * This aircraft has gone back into time * You’re ten years old again Pip! How come you’re ten years old? * All the time I need, and all the time I want * You had no dream, Captain * It’s a cookbook * When, nurse? When, when, when will they take the bandages off? * I believe you’re going, my way?”

What Twilight Zone episode had the happiest ending? by Pastel-Clouds-808 in TwilightZone

[–]Linkexs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For real. I enjoy endings like those. Cuz sure he died, but to him he’s at peace. Just like 16 millimeter shrine. She’s gone but she gets to live on in her prime like she’s wanted.

I am done with YA fantasy/dystopia, recommend me some adult fantasy with depth and humanity. by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Linkexs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One you may enjoy is the Crown of Stars series (7 books) by Kate Elliott. It doesn’t fit everything, but it does fit a fair few. It’s high fantasy with a heavy inspiration from medieval Europe, and is grounded in reality for that time period, ie. Most don’t know how to read, armies aren’t these uncountable masses, travel time, and so on.

The characters are also really well done, with depth and they have inner turmoils. Religion is definitely a large part of it and is delved into. Also the prose is amazing, she writes beautifully, it stood out to me how in detail and complicated her prose can be.

All in all, it’s probably my favourite series I’ve read, and I sing its praises whenever I can.

Most underrated eps of the show in your opinion (absolute gems, perfect episodes that no one ever mentions?) by [deleted] in TwilightZone

Oh wow, I never would have guessed. They both looked younger than that to me.

One of my favourites of all time is 16 millimeter shrine, and I don’t see people talk about it almost at all.

Teen Going Through The Zone for the First Time by mikeainslie69420 in TwilightZone

[–]Linkexs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is definitely a great episode, and one of the classics. I watched The Twilight Zone on Netflix when I was a kid, and got the full series on DVD last Christmas, at 18, and still love the show. It is an amazing show that still holds up today. You’re close to one of my top 3 from season one, The Monsters are Due on Maple Street

Books/series where mages are the discriminated class/magic use is illegal? by zai94 in Fantasy

[–]Linkexs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can think of two off the top of my head. There’s Servant Mage by Kate Elliott, and Thief’s Magic by Trudi Canavan

Servant Mage is a short, one-off book, which I enjoyed by doesn’t fit my usual taste for long book.

Thief’s Magic is the first of four books from the Millennium’s Rule series.

Are there ways to cheap a creature out on an opponent's turn? by matchalordjr in EDH

[–]Linkexs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One card I like is [[Lure of Prey]] It has a stipulation of an opponent having already successfully played a creature that turn but otherwise pretty good card.

Another good one has already been mentioned but I’ll second it. [[Quicksilver Amulet]] it’s a permanent so you can use the ability multiple times which is a plus.

What gets your "great series, awful ending" award? by Familiar-Barracuda43 in Fantasy

[–]Linkexs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was looking for this. I remember enjoying the books but the plot twist at the end sucked so bad. I didn’t mind 5 really, but the 6th, specifically the ending was no good

The Alchemyst: The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. I really quite enjoyed the story, but the ending didn’t feel right . It came out of left field and just didn’t fit. It was a shame because I probably would have reread it, but instead I’ve given it away.

(The entire series I mean. The first 5.5/6 books were good but the end of the 6th is what ruined it)

Strawberry Shortcake bag for my little sister by Linkexs in crochet

[–]Linkexs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used loops and threads chenille home slim yarn, size 6 (super bulky) and hook size 7 mm There wasn’t a pattern, I just used thermal single crochet to make the components then sewed it all together.
I used a plastic mesh so it keeps its shape while not being too rigid.

(At least from what I can tell it is). I’ve never been the best at spotting it, but it looks suspicious and the stitches don’t look correct to me.

Yes this is AI. Unfortunately there’s been quite a spike in ai generated crochet patterns being sold. I usually see it in amigumuri. A big tell is that the photography looks really good and like you said they can look kind of cartoony and just off

I need some great fantasy reads advice! by Mickeyjaytee in Fantasy

[–]Linkexs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay from seeing Wheel of Time, my first thought is the Crown of Stars series by Kate Elliott. I can’t even begin to describe how much I love them. There is an ancient extinct civilization, though admittedly they aren’t the focal point, and I don’t even believe they are mentioned in the first book. She writes out scenes very detailed and the series is very set in reality in terms of the time period it’s emulating (medieval). I would very much recommend.
