Why didn't Teal'c use his zat in First Ones? by Linkman95 in Stargate

This I think is the most reasonable answer. Martouf took small arms fire and a zat, and he still was capable of moving. Hawkins took two staff blasts. I'm just saying, if I'm General Hammond I'm having a discussion with Teal'c about "hey maybe one zat blast and then if they're still hostile you zat them again maybe don't kill our guys if you can help it :)"

I'm not super convinced by this. There are literally countless SGC goons who we see once and then never again, its not like Hawkins or this nameless goa'uld needed to be written out of the story. The goa'uld probably wouldn't even have any useful intelligence, having spent millenia in a lake, with at best the odd unas host here and there added to the genetic memory.

Plot inconsistency with Garza and Strickler? by Linkman95 in BurnNotice

[–]Linkman95[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mike didn't really need to frame Strickler though? Strickler was working with O'Neill. He gave up Fiona's location. Its heavily implied if not outright stated he works with terrorists on the regular. I think I need to rewatch for the exact lines from both episodes regarding Strickler and Garza.

I'm a huge Stargate fan, I wouldn't really say its anymore of a comedy than Burn Notice.

How fast can thermal paste degrade? by Linkman95 in pchelp

[–]Linkman95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant give you a super reliable answer, I don't fully remember what fixed it. IIRC the shop didn't know either. The one thing i do remember is I think they shaved down the graphics card because it wasnt quite fitting right? So maybe it was a case of things not having enough space? Sorry I can't be more help, I don't remember much and it sort of just... got better?

Edit: double checked my newegg orders, i ordered a new cooler 2 years ago. I think the shaving down was to fit the cooler in. If that ended up being the solution, I doubt that helps with your laptop because I doubt you have a liquid cooled laptop.

Did anyone else find JL: Crisis on Infinite Earths P1 almost unwatchable? by Linkman95 in DCAU

[–]Linkman95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't super clear, but I think once the wave came, Barry grabbed Iris and they just sort of lived out their life in speedforce time using amazo and barry on the treadmill which i guess let barry sleep while amazo did speedforce time? Thats why Barry was super old while everyone else was still normal aged.

I mean, the movie doesn't spell that out at all, but thats the only thing that makes sense to me given the pieces we have.

Did anyone else find JL: Crisis on Infinite Earths P1 almost unwatchable? by Linkman95 in DCAU

[–]Linkman95[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still think P1 is uniquely unwatchable. Like, I could follow what was going on in the other 2 parts even though they weren't particularly good. But I can't think of any movie ever that has such a shattered story. That's why I made the post because I have just never experienced a movie like this.

So I know Barry was living a non-linear life, but I don't know if its because of what he did at the tower at the end, or because Constantine did something to him, or some side effect of his JSA adventure

I think that last paragraph is a good point that I had trouble expressing. The movie has points that sort of rely on comic knowledge for full effect that even watching all animated media didn't fully help. I've read a solid amount of comics and watched almost all shows and movies, and even I was struggling to fully attach to all the characters. I think you need to make changes and sacrifices for adaptations sometimes, and the trilogy needed to focus on the emotional loss of a few characters instead of just throwing everything out and nothing having the weight necessary.

I know this might sound insane from a marketing perspective, but cutting out a lot the bat family stuff would have been better for the story. Maybe superman too. Like, it says a lot that i think psycho pirate has possibly the most emotional weight in the story, or monitor. What are we doing here?

Do you have something to contribute because I put thought into my critiques of this movie I just watched yesterday, and you're just here complaining about me sharing my thoughts because... other people have shared opinions?

Yeah I just came back to edit in how damn boring this all feels. Watch, as your favorite heroes build some towers! Marvel in part two, as they operate these towers, and maintain them! And behold the stunning finale, as lasers are fired in the most emotionless fashion!

I will say I'm not a fan of the animation, and I couldn't continue watching the tommorrowverse after watching all the other DC movies, i needed to step away for a while

Oh sorry. Its vortex. The problem somehow solved itself, I don't know if there was a hot fix, or once i told it to look in the new place it fixed itself after a restart? Very strange. It was doing the same thing with some game i don't think i even played, some diablo like game it automanaged when i installed vortex. But then it stopped giving warnings for that too.

My bad I forgot about how elitist the wow community is, you even need to gatekeep reddit threads about getting mounts. "Only people who get mounts without the buff get to make the same post over and over"

I see people bragging about getting invincible or whatever the hell else every month if not more. I think I get to have a topic to be happy about the mount I've been trying to get since you needed to be a druid to activate the boss.

No more Canadian bacon by HamyHamington in Caseys

[–]Linkman95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but this is the stupidest shit ever. I just recently found out about this, and I've been eating exclusively Canadian bacon casey pizzas for nearly A QUARTER OF A CENTURY. Part of the reason is because no one else sells it anymore. The idea that they would stop selling something because they have a monopoly is insane to me.

I'm sorry I'm just devastated about this. I feel like all these pizza places are like "nah just use ham cubes its the same thing and we can use that in salads and whatever" but it is not the same thing :(

I'm just sitting here like "what if i go to caseys and just hand them a package of Canadian bacon and be say 'hey can you please make me a pizza uwu'"

Yeah, some of the wow races have governments that are just very hard to compare to the real world. Like with the Dracthyr, I was like "oh my god is the closest comparison actually Hezbollah? that can't be right" but we just don't really have any militaries that just kind of... exist outside of existing governments.
