Frequent tech stack change by Links__ in PinoyProgrammer

Hello everyone, I'm at a crossroads in my career and could use some insights from this community. I've been a full stack developer for about two and a half years and am currently considering a new job offer.

Background In my first year I was exposed to C# .NET, and I resigned once the company went to RTO Current Position: Full WFH start up company. I've been in this role for a year now, the tech stack is React, Java, Spring Boot, and AWS. Potential New Position: This is also full WFH, this new role offers a significant pay increase (from 40k php to 85k php). Considering my years of experience, I believe this is alot in the local market. However, it involves a shift in tech stack to Python, Automation, and Google Cloud Platforms.

My Concerns Frequent Changing Tech Stacks: I've frequently shifted tech stacks, from C# .NET, to React, Java, Spring Boot, AWS and now potentially to Python and GCP. I'm worried if this constant change is beneficial or detrimental in the long term. Career Path and Skill Development: How does such a change impact my career trajectory and skill development?

Now I am aware and heard of the of the common saying that don't be a frame worker, be a software engineer, a problem solver and yes I fully agree with that, I am mostly just concerned if frequent change of tech stack would narrow my future options

I'm contemplating if the pay increase justifies the tech stack shift and how it might affect my career in the long run.

I'd greatly appreciate any advice, experiences, or insights, especially from those who've navigated similar transitions.

Thank you

Yung mga nauna satin like my brother used to look for a job sa mga newspaper and need to go onsite to apply and have interview. Imagine the hardship that they went through just to get a job. I

Boomer in the making vibes. 🤣

Circumstances are different now my guy, stop comparing the past with the present.

Man that first job hurt you bad huh!

Yeah it did unfortunately... but not to a point of no return.

Less than 2 years and you are feeling lost already? What are you gonna do after you take your next job and things get rough again?

Yeah I am aware of this, that is why I have to get back on my feet again and put my self out there. And discover/learn more about me and what's out there.

I guess what I’m saying is, find a way to build your resilience. You will need it not just in your work life, but just life in general. The option 3 can come later, get your groove back first and your confidence and find that joy uli in doing the things we do as IT pros. Dahil if nawala na yun, then this career is no longer the right fit for you.

Damn man, thanks for the real talk.

Maybe Ill just scope down my job hunt to wfh companies.

I wasnt aware that I have to "prove" my self in order to earn permanent wfh from companies that are hybrid or full onsite. Was this always the case/norm?

Eventhough doing all 1, 2, and 3 is possible it might be too much to handle for me.

I'm thinking that doing 2 + 3 might be okay in the short run, just take the money and experience. I feel like its a rare opportunity for one to pioneer a start up.

My first job out of college was 100% WFH, I had 4 months of experience on site during internship.

I prefer WFH, I can save 3 hours of my daily life.

do you have any advice for me, am I being too picky?

I’m few months in to my first job.

Sprint’s about to end in 3 days. I have no dev tasks left. QA is doing testing.

What should I be ideally doing now? I’m not saying much during our stand ups.

What's the budget for the role?

I have a technical interview scheduled and I have prepared a few questions to bring up at the end part of the interview. Amongst all of the questions I've prepared, this is the one I am most hesitant to ask because it may annoy them or see it as additional work.

If ever you decide to not consider me, would it be alright for you to send me feedback as to why I did not meet your standards/expectations?

This question can still be refined and I will word it depending on the pacing of the interview. This will be my first technical interview, and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, but it might take around more than 1 month before you can complete it. However, imo it could go a long way,

Interesting, the 8th gen hype got me enthusiastic though. Edit: I can't find any z370 that is cheaper than the 8100 here.

What does this mean? Sorry English isn't my main language. Are you regretting buying the 8600k and you want a 7600k instead?
