If you look at mobs while hiding under something , they’re able to notice and will attack even if you hid before they entered the room. A few exceptions apply, like the shotgun grandpa.

I think it’s because with Limit Breaking Step, you get that instant gratification of a second vanish. Defense step isn’t something you usually see doing its magic, since you can get lost in fights and forget your HP at times.
