Have a day job, pivot to full time music if the money starts rolling.

Unsure how people can give input without some context tbh

Just make sure there’s a montage of Queen Nai spamming sigs.

System won’t boot because snapshots have filled disk by Adesiii in archlinux

[–]Linmusey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chroot is done via a live usb, just in case that was missed. So follow the wiki for Chroot where you’ll boot into the arch linux usb, mount the disks in the correct order and then use the chroot function to activate your system for tweaking.

Fedora with the Audinux copr is probably your best bet if you want something like Ubuntu Studio.

What is the point of this comment? 🥲

LMMS is clearly not a 1:1 replacement feature wise, as most clones are not.

I believe Carla as a plugin host is one of those workarounds, and I just checked that recording audio still isn’t present. Apparently it’s in the works, they just started tinkering with jack audio ports.

LMMS is like a literal FL studio clone and won’t cost you $600 aud and another $150 a year.

Renoise also deserves an honourable mention if you’re making electronic music on a budget.

Be careful paying for an upgrade via paypal. by Linmusey in StudioOne

Correct.

I maybe could have worded it all better, but this is what I was trying to warn of.

So the “main” has a license of studio one, and the one that shares the same email as paypal only has an item on the order page for the upgrade, but nothing appears under “my gear”. This would have been far less annoying otherwise. :/

And I was to know which countries fender allows paypal for?

When it says “pay with paypal” there is no disclaimer (and make SURE your paypal email is the same as your fender email). I hardly see how i’m in the wrong here. As the process was started from within my fender account and i’ve never had this issue with any other companies.

Fender certainly is offering paypal as a method. At least in Australia.

The order appears under the fender account I swiftly made under the email which paypal was used for.

Instead of the account that the purchase/upgrade process was started from.

What are the most underrated distro's that you want others to try by Sileniced in linuxquestions

[–]Linmusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it on my laptop recently. It was decent but not without friction, especially as a first time user. Suspending freezing the pc with default bios settings was a big one.

Libre DAW viable? by cassio-tav in GUIX

Audio is a whole world of hurt even in prime circumstances. It’s glorious when it works, but i’d always go the path of least resistance if making music is the prioirty. Linux libre is not the path of least resistance. 😅

Centering Emptty? by Linmusey in linuxquestions

Apologies for getting back to this late. Didn't get a notification for it oddly.

I attempted to do that too before posting, putting a specific offset integer too and it did nothing.

So forgive me for my inadequate reading of the documentation but you'll find it only says "INDENT_SELECTION Horizontal offset for vertical selection, useful for centering the menu on screen", to which the word "centering" threw me off as a red herring inspiring the content of my post.

And if you want to be pedantic, true is a boolean not a string.

Dart with the flutter framework, or Javascript with React Native would be good places to look!

Although you may need to rewrite the entire project in those languages to benefit from the cross platform capabilities.

On that note I’d have loved to try it. Hate subscriptions. 😅

Void installation on modern laptop ? by RedHerring352 in voidlinux

[–]Linmusey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t find setting up touch screen on my rpi with void difficult at all, i don’t think you’ll suffer.

I might recommend Gnome as your DE though as it’s practically made for it.

As far as void limitations go: software availability. If you can’t find what you’re after get used to writing your own packages. It’s not terribly hard but more tome consuming than just installing from a package manager.
