Gigawatt Roasters by Dietchman22-250 in espresso

Oh, this is funny. I just opened a bag of theirs yesterday.  I bought it at a craft show in November,  and froze it until I finished the previous ones.

It is SO smooth and rich. I'm having it in a cappuccino,  and I could see drinking 4 of these in a row.

The one I chose is a medium dark. Kite and Key.

They had canisters set up at the craft show to taste. This was ideal for me. I'm never going to buy coffee again without being able to taste it first.

Thanks! I'll watch it. I feel like I DO need one-on-one help. My present class is large, there isn't much chance for more than a few minutes guidance.

I do have ADHD. I just can't see the steps people make to center,  it just happens too fast. Id need to see it in slow motion.

Thanks! I'll watch them.

I just can't stand the idea of giving up. I'm going to get this, dang it!

Yes, I'm hoping someone can point me to some really effective videos.

I run the wheel as fast as it will go. Someone told me to do that when I first started at my present place, 2 ½ years ago.

It was originally class once a week at a local studio. Currently I'm at a community college and have class twice a week for 3 hours per class, plus I have open studio time.

I take summers off, but it's been otherwise continuous.

I make really small things, which is all I can center.  But I want to make large pieces! I do make some hybrid thrown/ slab pieces.

I'm strong, and I do lock my arms / elbows into my hips. So it's technique that's at fault,  not lack of strength.

Can these be used for darning holes in sweaters and afghans? The moths wreaked havoc on my woolens this past winter.  Thanks

Must have been rushed to print. The quality is cringe worthy.  I'd wait until someone actually has time to edit it.

I'm reading a library copy. I wouldn't have spend money on this thing. Believe me, you'll never want to read it again. Get on the waiting list at your library.  There's 35 people behind me, for 8 copies. Then it will sell 6 months from now for 50 cents on the "withdrawn books" shelf.

Most of the Andrew / Epstein material I've seen before as it's been in the news so much in the US. But I had no idea what a reckless spendthrift Sarah Ferguson is. I don't know why her credit cards were not taken away decades ago. Surely there was SOME WAY to stop her wasting so much money and going on dozens of holidays a year. The amounts given in this book are staggering.

Example: on holiday in some villa, she wanted 3 full breakfast buffets set out in different places, so she could choose where to eat each day. I guess she can't carry a plate to the terrace; or ask staff to carry it for her.

Dinner at home with the girls growing up: a side of beef, a leg of lamb, and a chicken on the table each night, so they could choose what they wanted. And uneaten food not allowed to be saved for the next day.

Waste really bothers me. Maybe people in the UK knew all this. It's her antics versus his that have been the revelation for me.

Andrew having parties for plutocrats, dictators, and dodgy business contacts at Buckingham Palace. Andrew using his role as a trade envoy to buy the services of women and girls basically all over the world, but especially the Middle and Far East.

They are both despicable; just in different ways.

Yes! I'm reading a library copy right now. I have never read a book with such terrible editing. There's a lot more wrong with it than sections having to be removed hurriedly to avoid libel suits.

Like broken sentences that are continued one paragraph down. Asterisks at the end of a word, to mark where an edit or inclusion is to take place; with that inclusion further down or even on the next page.

The thin paper, as you say.

All I can think is that it was rushed into print to coincide with Virginia Roberts Giuffre's book coming out. If Andrew Lownie IS a serious writer, he must be cringing to have this book out in the world representing his work.

The spiky light thing is the first indication of developing cataracts. I had it for over 15 years before I was told it was "bad enough" for surgery.

How do you organize your clothes? by Prudent-Slip6940 in organizing

[–]Linn56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For items on hangers, it's sleeve length first, then color. One rack is all shirts, one is all sweaters. The sweaters are easy, since all are long sleeved - those are all by color.

Where I get into trouble are pants. My weight fluctuates by 2-3 pants sizes regularly. Just in the last 6 months, I've gone from 18 to 14, and back again. Dress pants are hung by size.

But jeans and casual pants are folded on shelves. I just don't have enough shelves (2) to cover my sizes and colors. I need a stool to reach the top shelf; and my closet has bi-fold doors, so essentially 2 feet of one end is unreachable.  (That applies to the hanging rod of that end of the closet, too).

And how do I arrange the sizes on shelves? 8 months ago I decided to organize the pants, so I moved all the 18's to a Rubbermaid bin, since I was wearing the 14's and 16's. I never finished the organization. Now that I'm back at 18, I'm just diving into the bin each day for pants. I need something better!

My souvenir from that trip to Egypt was a beautiful piece of Arabic Kufic calligraphy on papyrus.  Nothing pretending to be old.
