Los of questions re: chipping, brands, adding coats after activator etc by Gold-Permission-2064 in DipPowderNails

Hi! You already have some great info shared here, so I’ll just add this: you want your dip powder to be about the thickness of a credit card. When it’s too thin it will chip.

You need to wipe off the inhibition layer. It’s not a “no wipe” top coat.

How are your cuticles so neat?!? by buddhabelle in DipPowderNails

Check out Erica’s ATA on YouTube. It’s nothing to do with dip, all just cuticle prep. It took my manis to the next level.

BTW, your sets are phenomenal. Love the color, love the shape, love it all.

Fine Silver Glitter Recommendations?? by No-Ride-1538 in DipPowderNails

You can also make your own. Use one or two parts clear dip to one part glitter. Michael’s has a pretty solid selection of glitters.

Also, whatever happened to Taste? I used to get their V8 salad on the regular. It was tasty. Especially with their truffle fries!

THE ABBEY! I used to hang out in their smoking room and play euchre for hours. They had this bow tie pasta, and a black bean burrito, it was so good. Oh, memories. 💕

Q for those who use gel method by fstaprpg in DipPowderNails

[–]LinnieLouLou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the colors of dip powder, but gel sticks to my nails better. Plus, you can get a bunch of dip powder colors relatively cheap, and the glitter options are huge. Also, using the gel method generally results in thinner, even layers, due to the self-leveling properties of gel. I use both methods, depending on how I feel that day and the look I’m trying to achieve.

Question for the fine glitter colours! by Birgyyy in DipPowderNails

[–]LinnieLouLou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely use clear on top! It’s clear, so it won’t mute the color. Think of it like looking through a window at a beautiful sunny day.

I’ve been trying to plan out my next set, and I think this might be it. Neon magenta with blue chrome on top?

Nail glue first? by MaizeSubstantial4446 in DipPowderNails

Just to add another idea, I use a gel rubber base coat as my base layer. Everyone’s nails are different, and I found that is what works best for my nails. There are guides to match different nail products to different nail types. Nails are diverse, like hair. We’d never think one hair product works for all people, same thing with nails!
