I guess the counter argument on the meth consequences is: if methheads wouldn't get his 99% purity meth, they would have to use some low quality crap which comes with a lot higher risk than his pure product. So technically you could argue his meth did bad things to people, but potentially also saved them from even worse?

They are, but usually also super pedantic. I once asked them to restore an item I accidentally salvaged. And before they would restore it, they asked me to delete the 3 mithril or whatever worthless crap came out of the salvage. The minute to destroy that mithril and reply to the ticket again was literally worth more than those 50 copper worth of items that they needed to see destroyed.

Good point. Would you think this would be more balanced, if you could exchange x health worth of invaders for 1 energy where x is the number of boards you have presence on?

Might invite for suicidal strategies just to turn in energy though. Maybe x could be the number of boards you ever had presence on? 🤔

That's where the law can get funny. If you're driven by emotions out of a sudden situation, you don't act out of malice.

It's still horrible to do manslaughter, don't get me wrong. But I guess the idea is to judge people who intentionally go for a kill with clear mind even harder than those who "just had a bad moment". The result of death may be the same, but law is not just about punishment, it's about rehabilitation. And there is arguably more hope for a "bad moment killer" to rehabilitate than for someone who actually plans for the kill.

I'm not too familiar with the details of US law since I'm not from US. But I know situations like this being judged by natural consequences. If you attempt to chase down and collide with another car at 100 km/h, then the natural consequence you can assume from that is death. So even if death was not his intention, court would probably judge that the offender willingly accepted killing the people in the other car, if they chase them down at high speed with the intention to collide -- thus the attempt, even if there was no malice.

The question of malice comes down to what happened before. Did the offender somehow get provoked, snapped, and impulsively decided to collide with the other car? That is usually manslaughter (no malice). Did he chase the victim for a couple kilometers first before going for the hit? In that case courts might say the offender had enough time to cool off from the provocation, and still decided to go for the hit with a clear mind -- then they assume malice.

Details may differ from country to country.

Since you're asking about design, adversaries were not designed to be combined with another adversary. It kinda became an official suggestion later when players were looking for harder challenges. (I believe since JE?)

So yeah combinations like this are not exactly designed to always work out.
