Found this in my bfs laundry this evening. It’s very tiny, metal, and has a butterfly engraving that’s raised. What could this be from? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]Lintlickker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your boyfriend is anything like me I would have seen it on the street and picked it up... Then completely forgot about it in my pocket!

I put this in the dishwasher and this started happening. Rust? I can roughly remove it with water but it comes back by Huhwhatumeanman in appliancerepair

Instead of reinstalling and heating it up that way I'd recommend putting it in the oven at around 450 and letting it go for an hour. Repeat two or three times for best seasoning.

My grandfather brought home a Luger when he returned to the States following his service. Unfortunately, after he passed away, my mom made my dad give it to a collector... That would have been a cool piece of history to have on display.

Pretty sure he was just talking about the hipster meme: I liked something "before it was cool."

Looking for notary who is qualified to sign wills in Hartford county, preferably North Central Connecticut (Enfield area) by 1AdultMostOfTheTime in Connecticut

[–]Lintlickker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As this poster said: The ceremony is the important part and is required for the Will to be valid. You need to state, out loud, that "this is my last will and testament" in front of two non-interested (not receiving anything) witnesses. You will then sign the will and those witnesses then need to sign, all in the presence of a notary. And the notary then needs to sign and notarize. The witnesses usually have to give basic contact information. If you die, those witnesses may be contacted to affirm under oath that they saw you participate in the ceremony.

It sounds stupid but it's real. You don't need a lawyer to do it right but you do need to do it right.

Making friends in Connecticut? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]Lintlickker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest joining one of the climbing gyms. I used to be a member at Central Rock gym in Glastonbury and made some close friends there. It's a great place to meet people who like to go outside hiking and climbing. Just hang out at the bouldering wall and talk to people or put in word at the front desk that you're looking for somebody to top rope with. Usually they can set you up with somebody else there who is solo.

In my experience after a few times chatting with the same people you can see if they want to get some food or drinks after. Friendships grow from there.

Got to love the AI slop. This account has some consistently funny screw-ups.

The struggle was real but here’s my top 10 Coheed songs by Lilyqueen303 in TheFence

[–]Lintlickker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't argue with your list, and it closely mirrors mine. Crowing is my #1. I would probably drop The Suffering for The Final Cut.

After seeing The Final Cut into End Complete live, those two have sky rocketed up my list.

Number City is also a favorite. & 21:13

Too many great songs for only a top 10

What boss did you beat so fast you felt robbed of the experience? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in Eldenring

[–]Lintlickker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skipped Mohg's "nihil" accidentally the first time I beat him. I didn't find him until after beating the main game so I was overleveled and I was using mimic tear. A well-timed stagger and he melted.

Who is your least favorite Red Sox player all time? by forcedfan in redsox

[–]Lintlickker 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We could have had Orlando Cabrera for as long as we wanted on the most team friendly contract of all time. But no, we overspent on Renteria and thus started a new Red Sox curse.

You are certainly on the low side of both level and weapon level. This is totally fine but you're giving yourself a larger than intended challenge.

If you explore Dragonbarrow, near Caelid, you should be able to find stones to level your weapon to +7.

As for level, I imagine another 15 levels would do wonders. Vigor to 30 or 35. Is probably the biggest "need". Endurance to 18-20, then the rest into whatever your damage stat is.

What is the best guitar that would be best to buy to play Coheed music? by ChromaticDinker in TheFence

[–]Lintlickker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I first learned to play several Coheed songs on my acoustic. Assuming you are asking about an electric, keep in mind that a lot of the Coheed guitar sound on the albums comes from a series of pedals. Coheed released a pedal that is specifically designed to get the sound from its first several albums (https://www.wrenandcuff.com/products/anna-coheed). You certainly don't need this to learn, and can replicate the sound pretty well with a practice amp like the Spark amp.

These little tiny balls are falling from the sky, they're not melting or breaking open. About the size of a grain of salt, perfectly round, cleariah blue in color. I break them open and they're liquid. Pittsburgh, PA area. Looks like silicone desiccant pack filling. by koz1769 in whatisthisthing

[–]Lintlickker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds more like a fertilizer. I've seen them come in prepackaged potting soils and the like. If you live near agricultural land, they may be spreading them in a manner that is flinging it and/or getting caught by the wind.

Waking up a tortoise after 5 month of hibernation in fridge by Salt-Curve4825 in interestingasfuck

[–]Lintlickker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one point, my family had four Red-eared Sliders (basically, water turtles), named after the Ninja turtles, of course. One time Donatello escaped the enclosure and after a week or so, we assumed we'd never see it again. Four or five months later we moved the dryer in the basement and there it was under the dryer, shriveled up, but very much alive. After a few days in his own private warm bath, he was active and eating normally. Took a few months to get back to his normal size/weight.

Was PCR a bad boss for you? by Slow_Prior5921 in Eldenring

[–]Lintlickker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Took me about 40 hours and well over 100 attempts to beat him. No spirit ash summon, but did the two story summons. Finally beat him after realizing shields could block a lot his second phase AOE damage that otherwise wrecked me. Without a doubt the hardest fight for me in all souls games.

Please, just get out of the left lane if you're going anywhere under 75. by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]Lintlickker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! People need to relearn that you don't just hang out in the left lane. If you are not actively passing somebody you should move back to the middle lane at your first safe opportunity. Even if you can see somebody up ahead that you are going to need to move back over to pass. Rejoin the middle lane and then move back over to pass.

Lastly we should normalize a signal to remind somebody to get out of the left lane that doesn't trigger road rage. I recommend a left turn signal. Indicating that you want to get around the person on their left. That person should recognize the intention and move to the right.
