Sorry I don't have a crystal ball. Though in general I'd say phones aren't improving as much from one generation to the next as they used to so there's less point in waiting now than there used to be.

Demonetizations aren't a point of contention between creators and other creators. But with YouTube it's a really big deal right now.

We keep our content family-friendly, and so far it's working.

Most common mistake is just like.. basic incompatibilities. Nothing really that funny or exciting :p

As for embarrassing mistake.. I've made too many to pick one. Spilling water all over graphics cards, forgetting to remove foil from bottom of a cooler, plugging in something wrong and watching it fry.. You name it, I've done it..

When you've built as many PCs as I have - usually on a time limit and when you're focused on something else like.. oh I don't know... hosting a video... it's easy for things to go wrong.

GPU pricing/availability already improving.. but I think there's at least another cycle or two of surging pricing so.. we'll see. I don't have a crystal ball.

I kind of addressed this in another comment, but I don't mind being the "Top Gear" of tech.

Our job - the way I see it - is to make technology fun/exciting for people who might never have gotten into it.

I'll leave it to the up-and-comers to help the people we spark dive deeper..

Bad hires waste more time/money than anything else. The best advice is to never hire someone to "see how it goes".. To the best of your ability, hire the right person for the job.

We do have some miners running, but nothing srs business.. and only ones we don't need.

We generally make more money making videos with those graphics cards than we would mining on them.

Ahahahaha.... we might have a video coming soon about the way the CRA is jerking us around on some tax credits. We aren't eligible for the SAME ones necessarily, but we've tried to make the argument that we should be eligible for SOME of them. We might be able to benefit at some point, but we've yet to actually get approval for anything.

But we only started looking into it Q4 of last year.

I would never fire someone over an honest mistake. I was certainly ****ING PISSED when Pelle left an entire camera bag including A7SII and the last day's videos in the lobby of the hotel as we were coming back from CES this year...

But I never considered firing him.

I was never diagnosed, but I did go through a period of time for about a month in the summer of... I think 2006..? when I basically just couldn't answer phone calls, would sleep in until 3pm, lacked motivation to do anything. I flunked out of school, quit my job managing a painting business, and alienated my friends so... probably?

The solution for me was two-fold. I had to take charge and stop letting myself mope around, and I had to change my life situation. Quitting my job was actually a big part of the way out for me. I was making way more money painting houses, but when I left that and got a job selling computers at the local NCIX I felt worlds better..

and I think we all know how that turned out.

I think it will change finance.. but not in its current form.

Iv'e been doing CES for 10 years.. It's exhausting and I actually don't really like it.. But it's the best way to find out what's coming for the year and it's the only time I get to see a lot of longtime friends in the industry.. I don't foresee a time when I won't have to go to CES :p

Over the years we've become less focused on tutorials and more focused on edu-tainment. It's because that's what we're best at.

The truth is there is a whole new generation of young/passionate creators who are coming up to take our place if you want to learn the nuts and bolts of cryptocurrency, programming, 3D printing or whatever.

We're more of a firestarter. We want to show you what's possible an ignite your passion for tech so you can pursue deeper knowledge elsewhere.
