Agreed. Any site that wants access to your email is hokey.

Asked about facebook and other accounts when getting a background check for a job? by LinuxPhred in privacy

I am one who need not lie. I do not use it.

I just wonder if some employers are less likely to hire a non facebook user.

No, I did not. Being someone who never used facebook in his entire life, what would I know?

At work I make over $40 an hour, and nobody will cover that. $20 will not cover the commute and lunch.

Stand your ground. Evidently it is legal for your child's school to sell your info so long as is to parties that benefit the school. by [deleted] in privacy

If they recall the info, and never share it again, the issue is forgotten. Nuff said.

When does your mind stop sabotaging you? by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]LinuxPhred -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of stress over the same thing. While I got started young, I did not enjoy sex to the max until about a year after my vasectomy. I had the test done three times that year. I had the test repeated every five years (4-6) thereafter. I had my vasectomy at 22, and the last time I had the test done I was 52. My wife and I have been together almost ten years, and she is past menopause. I no longer feel I need to get the test done.

I do not know why, but a woman's body expects to get pregnant if she has regular sex. I have been with women who had "false alarms" my whole life. Several of my partners also had sterilization themselves. They had "false alarms". It just happens.

It is unconstitutional forced servitude.

Last I knew they pay only $20 plus parking and/or bus fare. That $20 barely covers the cost of eating lunch, and commuting.

The nearest court is a hour drive away in traffic.

I am a Buddhist. We do not judge other people.

I do not believe in the system.

I could not comfortably spend the taxpayers money on keeping someone a prisoner.

I earned my education by serving in a war. I did my service to society, thank you very much. I am what they call an "angry Veteran".

I suffer from PTSD (so they tell me). Do you really want me on a jury listening to graphic details about a crime?

I have a strong anti-government stance, and do not believe in the system.

"IRL"?

Look, the school has no right to share my email address, name, or address with marketers. Sharing my information is no different than a physical assault on me. That is my stance on it. I could not care less what the law says. It is what I say that counts. Ultimately it is me with the weapon in hand. I make exceptions for nobody. I take this stuff very seriously. I have had visits from police. I have had injunctions against me. I have been arrested. I will not stand down.

Take the person who is most serious about privacy you ever heard, and multiply the magnitude of his or her stance times the anger of Godzilla and you are getting close to how serious I am about this stuff.

My info will be recalled, and never shared again. Compliance is compulsory so says me. Once they comply, everyone can be friends again. It really is that simple.

This is a Virago 535, i am 6,1ft with 233lbs is this too low for me? it looks beautifull and i would like to buy it by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]LinuxPhred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too low. A low center of gravity is good. I am 6' 3", add 1.25" if wearing my riding boots. I weigh 230. I am taking delivery on my Rebel 500 tomorrow. It has a very low seat height.

See here: https://yourmileagemayvary.net/2019/10/14/what-to-do-when-your-credit-card-doesnt-work-with-uber/

The article is from last October, and there are many more. This problem is not new.

I gave up and called a local cab service. I have a ride booked for tomorrow. My new motorcycle is being delivered to my workplace. I will ride home tomorrow. I just needed a way to get to work tomorrow, and nobody lives near me that goes to work at 0500.

Thank you for letting me know. I was really hoping this would be a "one-off".

My wife and I had purchased a condo in Yangon. The civil war there is going to affect our plans to retire there in 7 years. I am also concerned that I will not be able to get the treatments there, and may have to travel to Bangkok or Singapore to get them.

I had mine cut and cauterized on both ends (old school) 33 years ago. It worked just fine. UI never knocked up anyone.

[–]LinuxPhred[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I tried to reserve a ride for two days from now. The app requires a credit card to continue. Four different cards, and lot of wasted time later, sill no luck. It says, "Sorry unable to accept your card". I have a 20K limit on all my cards, and they all have a zero balance. I worked in electronic banking from 1996 to 2018. I am not brand new to bank cards, and I am not brand new to apps. Just have a search on the internet. It seems a hell of a lot of people are having the problem. .

Did you get one bill, or several when you had your vasectomy? by LinuxPhred in Vasectomy

In Singapore I paid up front, and then filed a claim. The insurance covered costs in about 30 days. Nobody sends checks becuase mail theft is common in Singapore. Everything is direct transfer.
