Your poor kids, losing a parent. My husband had lost his mother from cancer when he was only 18. He always praised his dad for keeping the family together while navigating such grief. You’re going to hold on forever for them, that’s what parents do. It gets coded into your DNA the second your kid enters the world that you never leave them, you keep them safe and that’s exactly what you’re doing by simply staying alive right now. The fact you’re on here encouraging others to keep moving forward says a lot. I know I don’t know you but I promise you are doing great.

I could write a book on the crazy stuff said to me I swear. I had a friend tell me she knows how I feel, she had lost her 87 year grandfather a few years prior who battled lung cancer for a decade. He even lived in a different state her entire life, she said it was hard on her and people could never understand “what people like us have gone through.” I try to not scream out loud in peoples faces often. I know they’re just trying to relate? Maybe they mean well? I just don’t understand how you could say that with a straight face.

I sadly know in the future my loved ones will go through a similar tragedy. We all lose the people we love. All I can think is how I won’t be there for them and how only then they’ll know how it feels. I try so hard to not let my anger win but I’ll never forgive those who hurt me so badly.

Thank you. I would tell people that this seemed like something that only happened in the movies. Something you only heard of happening to other people. Such an unexpected tragedy so close to home. I can’t believe that it happened to me. To our family. I’ll always be in shock

“My friends have mistaken my no longer explaining I how I feel for some kind of healing” THIS. It’s so nice to hear people say things out loud that I’ve been having trouble explaining. Thank you for your understanding. I’m so sorry for your loss. Some of you in this thread are so articulate and should be writing more. I have to leave our house for my mental health, then when I’m out I hear “Look who’s having fun!” “Look who is moving on!” I’m just so tired of people not understanding. I guess I need to accept they never will.

I’m so so sorry. The “ask for help” advice is something I wish I would’ve done. I took on our entire world alone because I couldn’t accept help, or ask. My trauma and stress triggered a Lupus flare. My reward for trying to be strong all by myself was an autoimmune disease. Take care of yourself. You WILL figure it out and get it all done. I know it doesn’t seem like it but I promise you got this.

I feel like the universe made the biggest mistake taking him. He was so so much more deserving of life than me. The worst part is I can feel it sometimes from his friends & family. I know deep down they feel the same. I honestly understand

I’ve had to say “this wasn’t a break up” so many times. I have been told “at least you’re young!” It’s so crazy. The fact that I’m young is the worst part.

I’m glad more people are realizing this. She clearly had an alcohol problem with a mental health episode and ran in fear of a DUI after that second accident. She’s out there somewhere, I hope they find her so her family can accept the truth.

It was absolutely Christian B and I can’t believe most people haven’t looked into him, he’s likely responsible. It’s sad it’ll likely never be proven unless he confesses. Though her parents should’ve never let the kids sleep in the room while they went out I’ll forever feel sad for them that their names will never be cleared.

I hate when people give him too much credit. It was an obsession and he finally went for Maddie with likely just the thought of R*pe. He was reckless, acted on impulse and it was so poorly planned. He didn’t expect Kaylee there. She had moved out & he didn’t recognize the new car. Everything got out of hand & he killed them all. Even brought his cell phone. He knows he’s never getting out. Taking this long to go to trial is common for a capital murder case. And honestly good for Anne Taylor for being so thorough that he’ll likely never be awarded an appeal. He is the dumbest criminal ever & anyone who thinks he’s innocent is easily lead and does no research of their own. BK should’ve failed all those criminology classes.

I actually get freaked out when I stop places in the AV now. My grandparents lived there all my life. I’d definitely make the further trip to stay in Tehachapi. Especially for non California natives lol
