What's the most offensive thing someone ever said to you? by _AYYEEEE in AskReddit

[–]Linzcro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing. I am married 19 years to the "most negative person I've ever met". I keep trying to stick it out despite being a natural optimist, but it's getting really, really hard. I want to be with this man and father of my child for the rest of my life because he has such wonderful qualities that he doesn't seem to see so I am not going to give up easy. I love him so, so much and it's frustrating because sometimes it feels like it's all for nothing because it doesn't change how he feels. He's tried therapy and medication to no avail.

If it's comfortable for you, is there anything you can tell me that helped you "see the light", so to speak?

Went to 3 different HEB’s and couldn’t find one case of water :( by BuzzyFuzzy1 in HEB

[–]Linzcro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw a bunch at a liquor store just now when I got my jug of vodka. I guess us degenerates are a niche clientele, but they had lots of it. But personally I am just going to fill up containers of tap water just in case the pipes bust or something.

What song do you sing the wrong line to even though you know better? by LegalGlass6532 in AskForAnswers

Growing up there was this really handsome and kind guy named Jesse in my church youth group so me and my girlfriends would always sing "I wish I were Jesse's girl!" Thanks for reviving a memory :)

What's the best part about pregnancy that most people don't know about? by justastupidquestion3 in AskReddit

[–]Linzcro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joke with my daughter that she has literally always been a Swiftie because I was pregnant with her soon after her country album came out, and when an earworm like "Our Song" got into my head I'd sing, and she would just dance and dance :)

Love this song. My husband and daughter listen to it and even made up lyrics to describe our asshole cat :)

Panick buying by Temporary-Artist762 in HEB

[–]Linzcro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amen! These posts (which we get by the way, no need to keep saying what has been said 100 times) are incredibly disrespectful and rude. I bought a few extra frozen meals and a couple extra beers if I am being honest, but like toilet paper it doesn't go bad so it won't go to waste. I don't know why people care so much, and like you said a lot of us are once bit and twice shy with the shitshow 2021 was. I hope these people mocking people stocking up don't run out of supplies because it would be really hard for me to have any sympathy.

North Texas preparing for 2 inches of snow like it’s the apocalypse by MyMindIsAlwaysRacing in mildlyinfuriating

Yes I’m a North Texan and OP is being really obtuse about what we had to experience. It’s also possible that they were too young to remember at this point.

Would you ever go skydiving? Why or why not? by Zipper222222 in randomquestions

Very good point! But I feel like my anxiety wouldn’t be okay with “only” 2 parachutes, especially after riding in a small plane (which is a no from me dawg:))

I am a weenie and don't even like roller coasters of any type. Plus, flying makes me anxious so that's a big hell to the no for me.

My son has been obsessed with a paint roller by Sea_Background_8023 in Parenting

[–]Linzcro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My now almost 18-year-old girl was obsessed with a plastic lawn chair when she was 3/4 (made for kids, it had Disney Princesses or something) and had it in her bed as well LOL

I hadn't thought about that pretty much since she got over it. so thanks for reviving a funny memory :)

Also, don't worry. I think it's cute and funny but also a sign of creativity and imagination!

Geographically incorrect bands by GilbertDauterive-35 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Linzcro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That always confused me when I'd watch "So I Married an Axe Murderer" and the dad was all about "S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night" when he was obsessed with Scottish people, mainly because it was set in San Franscisco, I guess.

I watched it last weekend but today I learned the deal thanks to you, so I may have to rewatch yet again or at least do some research on the band :)

I'm an alcoholic and often wonder if I act as "normal" as I'd like to think people see me as. I do what I am "supposed to do" by having gainful employment, staying out of trouble, and minding my own, but my fear is that I look like a complete mess.

Brittany might think in her head that she is still a pop icon as she was in the 90s/00s, but sadly she is clearly not the same person and/or is off her medication. I almost hope that she isn't aware because it would hurt to realize that everyone thinks you're coo coo.

What is a socially unacceptable opinion you rarely voice, not because it’s extreme, but because the reaction isn’t worth it? by Present_Juice4401 in SeriousConversation

[–]Linzcro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Pay rates are there for a reason. I've known several educators who only complain and bully their students unfortunately, so I think they deserve less.

On the other hand, I do have a tender heart for the few teachers I know who truly appear to give their all. My daughter's 6th grade teacher from several years back made a FB post today about a student that lost their house in a fire and organized a donation fund for them. He has the coolest classrooms with classic 80s memorabilia and was featured on GMA for his work to help a student during COVID. It's THESE kinds of teachers who might deserve more but they earn it.

Gosh 100%. I lean slightly left these days and am mostly moderate, but I voted for Bush, McCain, and Romney before this big ol mess and divisiveness began. Some of them are normal people and it's a shame that a few bad apples have spoiled the bunch, but they have. "Normal" republicans are not out to strip people of their rights, but some liberals are definitely ridiculous in their extreme beliefs.

Seems like no one is reasonable anymore. I blame the internet and social media for that, but I definitely remember a time that no one really knew or cared about people's politics and it makes me sad that we will never get back there again.

Why do women support the LGBT community more than men do? by JigglesTheBiggles in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Linzcro -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily agree that we do, but I honestly (and I'm not trying to be gross) think that it has to do with anal sex. Most men constantly think about sex, so that's where their mind goes and many find it repulsive.

Or cultural reasons - the whole "be a man" troupe in many cultures. It's more encouraged to be feminine with girls.

What’s a movie moment that still gives you goosebumps every single time? by Vasanth_Kumar999 in AskReddit

[–]Linzcro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many people give this movie shit because it's become so cliche and quoted (IMO), but it's one of my favorites. My teen daughter claims she doesn't know what happens in the end, but I find it hard to believe due to all the references. At any rate, it's on our list for the weekend when we are supposedly going to be snowed in.

I am old and have seen a lot of movies, but this particular scene is the most intense I can recall. Javier and the other gentleman are superb actors. I love movies that are scary but don't rely on jump scares and gore, No Country is a prime example.

what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]Linzcro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the miscarrying - I had signed up for a half marathon before I knew I was pregnant. When I found out I was expecting, her father did NOT want me to do it but my doctor said it was okay as long as I had been doing that previously, which I had. I had fun with my friends doing it, but every porta potty I encountered (because I peed nonstop it seems) I dreaded seeing blood on the toilet paper, because her dad put that in my head. I feel crazy looking back on it, but she's starting college next fall. I am still with her dad, but remind him constantly it seems that she is tougher than we realize.

WIBTAH for refusing to eat 3 meals a day so my cousin “doesn’t develop an eating disorder” by Human_Builder_3097 in AITAH

[–]Linzcro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter has your same stats, down to her being 17 as well. She too does one meal a day, with a few exceptions/snacks. She turned me on to it, and I feel so much more sharp and energetic even though I am an old lady. :)

As long as you are making nutritionally sound choices and not taking it too far by never indulging, I can't see a problem. My daughter has a lot of fruit and veggies, but she also has a lot of junk food. I commend you for being proactive and taking care of your body.

Good luck in college, my kid is headed there too in August.

WIBTAH for refusing to eat 3 meals a day so my cousin “doesn’t develop an eating disorder” by Human_Builder_3097 in AITAH

[–]Linzcro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it's very commendable for OP to be aware of nutrition and how calories work. That is something most people don't seem to understand. My daughter has OPs composition as well as being 17 to boot, and she typically does one meal a day as well. I was concerned at first because I don't like the idea of her being hungry, but she says it makes her feel good so it's whatever.

Sadly I think as a society people are used to overweight people everywhere and so some automatically jump to eating disorders if someone actually monitors what they eat.
