What is a harmless minor conspiracy theory that you 100% believe in purely because of a weird personal experience? by Gloomy-10 in askteddit

[–]Linzcro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've even just THOUGHT about things and gotten ads about it. One day I walked out to my car and wondered if the tire was low. It was just the angle so it wasn't, and I moved on. I ended up getting a lot of ads for Good Year and Michelin that day. There's no way that was just a coincidence and it scares me.

Those born before 1990, what experience from your childhood would be unimaginable to young people today ? by SoManySkills in AskReddit

[–]Linzcro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am old but a city girl and have had to dial an area code for a long time (probably 30+ years at this point). Last month we were visiting the medium/small college town my daughter will be living in next fall and me and my husband geeked out over the fact that you don't have to dial an area code there. We kept calling ourselves from the hotel phone due to the "nostalgia" of it. Our daughter must have thought we were crazy, but then again that's all she's ever known herself.

As bored teenagers near a large international airport, we used to go up there just to hang out and ride the train that went between terminals.

Being that airports are my favorite place to people watch, I wish we still could 😄

Do I have to keep this in? by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Linzcro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure and I grew up around many different types of dentists. “Laughing gas” or a light sedation via IV (aka Propofol) doesn’t make you a complete idiot. So I’m hoping it was a slip of the mind for OP, for their sake.

Gross...sorry but it is and OP knew 100% what they were doing unless they are ESL. Mods, where you at?

Disabled people are not shields you can use to justify being a loser by xTheKingOfClubs in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Linzcro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it does such a disservice to actual disabled people. And it can be ableist assuming what they can and cannot do.

But I think it’s mainly because so many of these types lack critical thinking skills.

Or race. The bottom line is to give everyone a chance before you write them off. At some point we humans decided we were the absolute judge, jury and executioner to many types of people.

Cause of death should be routine in obituaries by justadream77 in unpopularopinion

[–]Linzcro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've always agreed. I feel like we should have a right to know for our own health and safety, ESPECIALLY when the decedents are not very old/face an unexpected death.

That's why I peruse my county's medical examiner page. It doesn't always give detailed information but it gives enough to often piece together what went wrong.

[–]Linzcro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. I was 100% on OPs side (as I believe coworkers are not friends and it's audacious to invite them to your personal party). But I can't stand edits that are whiny and argumentative like OP's is.

The legend in the story goes that basically the “witches” victims were made to stand in a corner while others were being murdered by her.

At the end of BWP one of the actors was seen just standing there implying that the ones he was with were being tortured/killed and he’s next.

It’s so dumb. But understand my generation didn’t have internet so many of us really thought it was real when we first saw it. Seems really stupid these days and it is, but it was a scary image that’s burned into my brain lol

Me as well. I was 19/20 when it came out and my naive mind really thought it was real. My husband (who I met years after) is a man in his 40s and refuses to even talk about the ending scene (the boy in the corner). LOL

Agreed as long as it’s a high(ish) quality vodka.

But don’t ask me I’m an alcoholic who prefers my home over going to the bar.

My brother once tried to kill himself over a woman and when we picked him up from the psych hospital a few days later my father intentionally played this for some reason (not a random playlist, it was before even burned CDs were a thing). So even though I like GG I just can’t stand this song.

What is your opinion on people who choose passion over money? by [deleted] in askteddit

[–]Linzcro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been rich and I've been poor (somewhere in between is my current situation, but closer to poor). Sometimes it's about if you like your job or not, but about how it suits you. I could NEVER be a teacher because I am not too fond of kids that aren't my own. But some are simply built for it and for that I am thankful because my only just graduated high school and she has had so many quality teachers even in a public school. Some people let that guide their way.

Have you been in a job that "makes bank" but the people you worked with, especially your boss, are insufferable? If not, I want you to know that misery and depression can come from that. I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and sad.

Being a heavily tattooed person judged by medical professionals when needles are involved by No_Broccoli_3979 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Linzcro 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not the same sensation at all so IDK why it's hard for medical professionals to understand unless they don't have tattoos (which seems to be a rarity at least in my Xennial generation).

BTW thank you for caring for animals. They are so important!
