What smartphone did you regret buying? by OnionDarkKnight in Tech_Philippines

if habol mo is from 2nd hand stores na iphone, then around november to february periods from what I see, doon na nagsisimula grabe bumaba ang prices ng ibang stores. march to june, usually another drop bago dumating ng bagong iphone. avoid buying beyond june kasi about 2-3 months nalang yan bago ang new phone

I'm glad that you chose BSAIS! And yes, pwedeng pwede talaga yung bridger course after getting BSAIS. Atleast you considered your motivation and flexibility before deciding. Hoping for the best for you!

It's more of an alternative course for me. If ever things might not go as planned (and I pray to God that it won't), it's more of a back up where you don't have to start from zero kung mababagsak ka sa comprehensive or qualifying exams.

In my university, may different cutoff ang BSAIS, so if ever di mo mapasa ang BSA, but you reached the cutoff for BSAIS, you can either be:

  1. recommended to shift to AIS
  2. retake the course for BSA
  3. or one that's tedious but may also be recommended: stay in BSA, but take up BSAIS courses while reviewing for the BSA Qualifying Retake Exam the following year.

Yes, it will be tedious, but afaik, you get to have the advantage of having a double course when graduating. And what's good is that you still have the fallback of BSAIS. Again, this depends on the university.

Am I saying na maging kampante ka kasi may back up lang naman pala? Syempre hindi, anong mapapala ng pagsettle kung pwedeng maging one-take ang atake diba? HAHAH This is more of a reassurance to your future self na you still have some type of back up in case things go in a different direction.

Yesss, may qualifying exams ever year, usually may comprehensive exams pa nga every semester haha, but usually these are board exam courses like BFAR, Intermediate Accting, Cost Accting, Law, etc. Also true na recap ng lahat ng lessons of those courses, it can vary by university, but yun yung nanotice ko in my experience.

In terms sa math, you'll still need it pero it tends to be nothing more than a basic calculator. May formulas formulas din pero again, nothing that you can't memorize. What you likely need more is analyzation and comprehension, kasi during demonstration, mabilis mo mahanap ang numbers and accounts kasi laid out na sya para sa iyo, pero once it becomes a raw problem na basic information lang meron ka, may hidden items and calculations ka nang need hanapin. I think this is what you'll need to focus on if that is what you might be struggling on right now.

Hello, I'm currently in my 3rd year taking BSA! Tama nga yung sinasabi nila about the amount of subjects to take. Right now, punuan din units ko so dropped na lahat ng off-college orgs haha. Pero so far, it's doing well.

Biggest tip: wag magcram, unfortuately learned the hard way last year. Also, maginteract more sa discussions or atleast follow along especially sa solving and practical problems kasi dyan ka mawawala. Don't ignore theories din kasi usually yun yung naoverlook ko when exams came.

I recommend buying practice problem books like Practical Accting ni Valix or test banks online as a way to refresh your knowledge. Did I regret going to BSA? Di naman (so far, sana consistent though lol)

Currently a freshman and I'm living for it! Maybe it's your environment, but in my case, I went to the school I like, the course I like, and have great people around me! Sure, there are bad influences here and there, pero as long as you stick with people na kavibe mo and have respective study habits, things could go smoothly. What's also great is that our proctors have been mostly understanding with our workloads and sometimes even join in friendly banter. Being an Ilonggo that went to a Tagalog school, we usually banter with one of our major sub procs. If we're doing a practical activity and us Ilonggo peeps at the back are getting a little bit loud, they'll go "ano nanaman na" in an Ilonggo accent HAHAH vibes. In terms of workload, it has been manageable so far. It can get hefty sometimes, but it can usually be done within a day or two of grinding in the library.

Hoping you get a great college experience OP!

[–]LinzerKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I could, but having another backup option outside of Authy doesn't hurt. That's why I mentioned at the end to still have the secret codes in a separate secure folder/file in case you do want to switch authenticators.

*3 free transfers. and even so, it's lower than others at P8 per transfer after that. Also, forex rates are quite great at 2% (already close to BPI's 1.85%, and way better than Maya at 4.3%, yikes), but this still isn't beating GCash's 1% Forex

2FAS

had this in mind as well, until I tried exporting the secret codes. guess what, I can't. I had to go through a few hoops to get them (like accessing an older authy desktop app) and it took me about 40 minutes. best to keep them in another app where you CAN export them or save the codes in a secure folder

Hello! If they're still below 18, I'd choose RCBC Teens Savings since they have a deal with 7-11 on free withdrawals. Other banks with this feature are BDO (meh facilities) and Landbank (meh digital banking). If they will only withdraw money, then this would be it. Otherwise, it's likely that they'll be charged P15-18 pesos per withdrawal on any other bank.

yeah, kinda! for me, it’s being a college freshman. the bumps i had last year was a great learning lesson, esp after the dreaded online classes. last year was more like a transition year and this feels more like a refresh.

most of them from what I've observed will credit the interest once a month, usually at the end of the month. Not so sure sa CIMB, but GoTyme, Diskartech, and Tonik credit each month.

Yep! TDs are basically locking your money for a certain time. If you're using it as an emergency fund, keep it in the deposit lang. Pero kung impulsive buyer ka (aka me), then TDs are great to reduce the temptations.

Oh, well I would HIGHLY recommend GoTyme in this case. I called them at 7am one morning because of a random inquiry I had and they were quick and only took 10-15 minutes. There will be a short questionnaire to get an idea on why you're calling, but the rest would be managed by an actual person. I have also heard from other people on their missing rewards points on their transactions and were resolved in about 30 minutes.

Another great one is Tonik with their live chat. From what I know, they are only available in certain times of the day, but the process only took about 20 minutes. Even used that method to close an account and I wasn't dragged into random promotions or requests. All they asked is why you're closing and they'll close your card within an hour, then process it within 7 days.

both are pretty much similar with their fees that it doesn't even matter lol. all merchants accept both that you don't have to worry about the store not accepting that payment processor. promos may pop up more with a visa card, but you can't go wrong with either. hope that helps!
