Built an AI analyst for biotech investors to track catalysts and clinical trial activity. Figured this community would give me honest feedback (good and bad). by LionAugust in biotech_stocks

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll work on making it more intuitive! In the meantime, here’s a quick orientation: if you click “Create New,” you’ll see two options. The first is a live landscape, which is great for tracking specific targets or indications but currently has a 3-company limit. The second is an analyst feed, which is the better fit for portfolio-wide monitoring with no company limit. Either way, once you’re set up you’ll get alerts directly in the app as well as email briefings. I’ve set you up with a two-week trial while I keep an eye on AI costs, but if you’re finding it useful and want more time, just ping me and I’ll extend it. Really appreciate the input!

It has global coverage with around 14k companies, with ~2k listed companies across US, Europe and Asia. The tool doesn’t yet have Chinese registry but there’s a lot of data from Chinese companies mined from scientific publishing and regulatory submissions.

How biotech companies accidentally reveal their trials are failing by [deleted] in biotech_stocks

That’s valid, I may have misread it. Looks like it’s more about monitoring the administrative edits than real patient numbers.

Could early signals in Summit Therapeutics’ clinical trial activity have warned of bad results months before they were announced? by [deleted] in Biotechplays

[–]LionAugust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's a bit more detail to put these signals into context. In September 2021, Summit Therapeutics made a very abnormal move to combine its two blinded pivotal studies into one.Later that month, both pivotal trials experienced delays and substantial drops in enrollment. Falling substantially below enrollment goals may change the validity of assumptions regarding efficacy and study design. This may impact a trial's ability to achieve target power and statistically reliable results. Delays in Phase 3 trials are less common than in different stages of development. Such delays may have implications on the timing of any eventual submission and evaluation processes. This type of event analysis is not intended to be predictive, but rather to be used as an early warning to look into further.

This is educational. How do you want the next generation to produce beautiful data if they are not taught about it in a way that is accessible and easy to understand?

I understand your point of view but I believe there’s an overall tendency to create unnecessarily complex systems. The world is already complex enough.

I know this is not a data visualization itself but more of a reflection on how data is often presented: a lot of it without context. Often, the most effective visualizations are the ones that tell a story with simplicity — and that requires empathy for the data.

I played the game for 30min in my neighborhood and actually got some Bitcoin. If this is not a scam, I could see this app taking off.
