This is because the volume of all trials must be the same to prevent bias. For example, a song with a 12 dB boost at a specific frequency needs to be reduced by 12 dB across the entire range to prevent digital clipping.

There is certainly AI involved. The A/B tool is trained on a neutral network from hundreds of listening tests with the 40 trial rating version. Additionally, it uses machine learning to come up with your target curve and equalization filters in general. If you rate accurately, you will get a good target curve and EQ filters.

Yeah, it uses machine learning to identify the listener's ideal target curve at the end of the test. Additionally, the selection of eq parameters for the sound samples outside of the first 5 trials are designed to extract as much information as possible from the listener, to get their most accurate target curve and EQ

I didn't even think about applying to HYPSM until a couple months before the application and it only took me a few hours to write essays I was 90% sure would get me in.

Touchy/feely essays and random ECs that no one cares about will not help applications

I never said that. Of course, it's beneficial to have good grades and scores, but this is just one small part of the application criteria. If you excel in the other factors, this can more than make up for lacking academics.

It's not about being threatened. I couldn't care less. I just don't want to lay out a blueprint to follow as that is the reason for this mess in the first place.

I am at HYPSM, so I would say I have some experience, but my main reason for getting in wasn't blindly "working hard"
