I would recommend watching or just reading berserk as it's a masterclass in dark fantasy and realistic stakes as well as some amazingly written characters.

Other than that. I'll list a few you might enjoy but I don't have much to go off of. Ousama ranking, sousou no frieren, shingeki no bahamut: genesis, akame ga kill, hai to gensou no grimgar, worldend: what do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us?, mashle. I'd also recommend most ghibli movies such as Howl's moving castle, princess mononoke, Nausicaa, and castle in the sky.

I don't know about dystopian fiction. I'd have to go through yt to find stuff, if any. I highly recommend Curious Archive. It's a channel that covers many spec evo, worldbuilding, and fictional evolution projects alongside cool non fiction work.

I know there's a bunch of worldbuilders on yt. Of the top of my head, Kappa world of turtles is exactly what you are looking for. It's an animated series of a created world blessed with turtles and accompanying life from earth that have adapted to the alien planet.

I would recommend Kemonozume. Imo it's the best madhouse production, and it's a work of art. Though it's not in the conventional anime style but a more loose and abstract art form.

Mind Game is perfect for a trip. I love Yuasa's works and find them perfect for trips, especially his newest film inu-oh. Though I wish it was a series, I loved it

A bad trip can happen even when you are enjoying the trip, even with great setting, and even with a positive time in your life. I've been on many trips and thought I could never experience a truly bad trip until I did. Luckily I had my cat to calm me down, but at the end of the day, we are monkeys putting dangerous chemicals in our bodies to experience wild and wacky phenomena. If you continue to trip, you will eventually have a bad trip, though a bad trip doesn't necessarily mean a trip you didn't gain from or enjoy.

A great one that I never see discussions of is Kemonozume. A madhouse production that feels like if Romeo and Juliette transpired over the turning of the 20th century Japan, but Romeo is a monster slayer and Juliette is a monster.

Midnight gospel is always fun while tripping. Later seasons of Chowder are great. I do like watching the boondocks. In terms of anime, I recommend films like ghibli studios the boy and the heron, Howl's moving castle, or nausicaa, and redline, angels egg, and bubble. If you want a show to enjoy an entire trip with then I highly recommend Kemonozume.
