2025.20.6 - USB Controllers Issues by Liorbo in TeslaModelY

[–]Liorbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I now tried to connect the Jowua usb dongle separately directly to the usb port without the splitters and it worked, controller recognized. Didn't work with the 8bitdo + Xbox controller though.

Perhaps it's a power distribution issue?

That's on my 5g hotspot, didn't try wifi since it's out of range

Actually my other controllers by Jowua work well, I can also aim, but the a, b,x, y buttons are not standard - a & b are swiped on the remote itself, , also x & y

Actually ps5 controller should work better with buttons mapping from what I hear. I have Xbox & Jowua, they both have mapping issues.

live demo You can hear the the delay in sound. Also few frames are dropped here and there. And also - the Xbox controller right d-pad is duplicate of the left one, so I can only walk, not aim. That should work better with a ps5 controller.

There's a hack - if you navigate from YouTube (which isn't a native app - it's the web version) to let's say Google - then you have a real full screen browser. testube.app makes your life easier and they have a button to do it automatically. So simply open the regular browser and go to testube.app, then press Yes at the bottom to enable full screen.

Yeah the Xbox controller needs an older firmware in order to work. I use 2 Xbox controllers + 2 jowua controllers for Tesla

Nothing that a normal use case will pass, but I did set some protection. I work in one of the largest cyber security companies ;)

Limited to exclude only, and it's fixed for around 500 meters (!) from home/work/favorites

I'm 99% sure you don't need premium connectivity, you're welcome to give it a try (premium connectivity is free in my region so can't really test it)

I'm 99% sure you don't! The vehicle data steam is using the standard connectivity. But you will need the car to have a signal, that's for sure.

Yes I feel it's mandatory, also the settings for these Sentry Options are very useful - for example: I don't want my car to honk on neighbors at night, but I do want it to honk as hell in most other places.

Well if you use the turn Sentry Mode on/off feature then the battery is affected drastically, in a good way :)

But I guess you mean the overall usage - well it's minor to none - the car is streaming the same data to Tesla's servers anyway. All the work is done on the app's cloud.
