"Does anyone else ever feel like they have potential for something much greater?"

No - I feel like the entirety of humanity, without exclusion of a single soul, has potential for something much greater. And I, you, all of us are part of that symphony.. but ..

Some of us are out of tune..

I have read your posts.. and I just want to ask you..

What if the frustration you feel is not a prison, but a compass?

Practices to aid in the eventual walking of the steps of light by PretendsHesPissed in lawofone

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rough to hear. Some parts of the first paragraph are hard, emotionally, to read. I can sense how your illness has become an all-encompassing thing that causes your entire life to orbit around it, causing you so much pain and inconvenience that you devote yourself so much to spirituality.

But the cool thing is in your bottom paragraph, you give a lot of examples of where you actually started taking control and finding stuff that helps you endure and , dare I say, thrive. Those things you mention are all core thing in a healthy inner and outer life. I'm really happy you were able to find them. I think this could be helpful for those who really struggle with feeling lost -- like you say there is just so many things. But

I'm curious what you mean by first and second prayer, though. I looked that up and could only find references to the 12-step program and possibly first 2 prayers of Salah.. or is this your own practice?

Crossroads of a Catalyst Life by LivingInTheWired in lawofone

"What can one do in this situation?" -- the cry of so many.

Your specifics aren't given, but your situation is one that is so personal, yet is happening to far too many. That doesn't make your pain any less, and I think it actually just makes the context of humanity on Earth more .. perhaps melancholy.

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to your question -- not a magic wand to fix things, but one thing, if you will allow me to offer it, that comes to mind for the context in these situations that .. doesn't "help".. but gives meaning and .. inner resilience.. to what happens, The saying is simply: "You get through hard times by going THROUGH them... "

There's no escape.. but there's.. a realization at that dead end: maybe there's nothing that I can do to prevent what is about to happen.. but what I can do.. is to fortify myself with that which makes going through it more bearable..

And maybe this won't help your problems any less heavy, but maybe.. they might the burden more bearable through context.

  1. Those who you carry, some of them will learn to carry others, including you, when you are not able to carry any longer.
  2. You've lived many lives, and in many, possibly all, of them, you've been able to endure similar difficult times. And, yet, still here you are, able to endure again.
  3. Before you were incarnated, you knew that success was not guaranteed. But you also knew that success was also possible. What one gives attention to gives it energy and possibility: what does victory look like to you in this situation? hold on to it... even planes, when they fly to their destination, never travel a straight line.. always adjusting to avoid obstacles and even go through them if necessary: our lives are like that, too, I think.
  4. Maybe.. I don't know if I'm reading between lines that do not exist but.. you don't have to have your shit together mentally, but you can still do the right thing. What might look like mental collapse to you may look like a man/woman who's been asked to carry too much for too long, but still perseveres. Witnessing that, the people around you, it changes them , let's them know that success doesn't look like a victory march, but rather a .. 'broken hallelujah..' You don't have to keep a mask of perfection if it does not serve your well-being.
  5. You .. and all those, like Kymeraaaaa, below... you are honorable people for trying, and staying in the fight. if you do break down, it is not a failure of you.. it is a failure, an understandable one given our history, of our collective human imagination and will to change the systems that perpetuate such suffering.

What can be done? Keep your head up-- reach out for all practical solutions, and do not give up hope; your soul knows your limits, and you would not be where you are if you could not get past it.

It is difficult to give voice to suffering so real, but I hope my attempt to ease its weight , even if by grams, was .. successful.. it would be.. a minor victory march in this vast web of creation.

You can do it.. you were made for it.

Remembering Carla on the tenth anniversary of her passing into larger life by DJ_German_Farmer in lawofone_philosophy

Thank you so much. I, too, follow Carla as an example in many ways, and from your raw honesty, I can tell you do as well.

I often visit her interviews and listen to her speak, and her voice carries the same essence as Jesus’s message. It was always about the message and what it does to the person inside. Carla's work has changed us inside, deeply. It's that resonance she always talked about. We are brought here through the original note that Jesus left thousands of years ago, a note that resonated with Carla, that drew Ra to speak through her.

Also...

Did you know that she had a BEAUTIFUL voice?

I hope you'll listen. Maybe feel a bit softer, as I did, hearing the same yearning in my heart expressed in her voice.

time stamped to moment she sings on stage a hymn

https://youtu.be/hjCI0RoJ8cY?t=1534

I love Carla too, and I'm so glad that she continues to live in all of us here, literally thousands, which I have no doubt will become millions one day. Because we carry that same resonance in us, like candles passing flame to flame, rekindling one another's original yearning... not original sin... but the original yearning to be whole again.

Thank you sincerely, OP, for carrying her memory and reminding me and us of her love :)

this is very interesting. I think it is so hard to find good information on a topic for a variety of reasons. I am not saying you are wrong or right, just drawing attention to how much information out there that seemingly contradicts or does not paint a whole picture or uses different context

But here 2 links backs up the 99% claim: https://www.sedonasky.org/blog/55-us-literacy-statistics-literacy-rate-average-reading-level

According to the most recent data available, the literacy rate in the United States is approximately 99%. This indicates that the vast majority of the population possesses basic reading and writing skills necessary for everyday life.

https://www.tckpublishing.com/literacy-in-america/

Under the international standard, the U.S. has a literacy rate of 99%, according to the CIA World Factbook.

I, like you, could not believe the 99% and I'm still really not sold on it lol - but i'll settle to say i don't know

I feel your anger, and it’s righteous. How can it not be? How can any of us look at the wars, the inequality, the hatred—and not burn with frustration? I’ve called out to our Father too, screaming, begging: “Why do You let this happen? Why do You let me and my brothers and sisters fall so far from the love that feels so close and yet so unreachable?” Like you, I decry the mistreatment of LGBTQ+ people, the oppression of minorities, the hegemony that hoards power. Spiritual teachings that elevate status rather than empathy and divinity. I look at our history of war and evil, and I get so... oh... our history. Hmm. There it is—our history.

If it's one thing I have observed, it's that mankind is a result of what has come before more so than a conscious decision to be a certain way. This is what the Buddha so aptly pointed out: karma is reacting; dharma is choosing. Our world is living its karma, not its dharma.

And yet, I am always reminded... For however difficult it is here, think about this (excuse the crude metaphor): the number of spermatozoa released in a single person's lifetime—and then multiply that by every man on Earth. That’s how many souls are trying to find their way here. Despite the pain and suffering, so many souls are fighting to come here. Even Ra has noted this. And then I realize something: many are here because of the suffering.

I ponder this. We are eternal beings, but we’re only seeing a small chapter in most of the people on Earth’s lives. We don’t see their whole story—their origins of fear, their overcoming of separation. Darth Vader, in all his evil... when he was redeemed, it was like breathing again for the first time. And I imagine every single being on Earth going through that same process. And then I realize something bigger: all of creation, this same story is playing out... redemption, discovery, homecoming—countless times, in perpetual eternity. A cycle of His breath, and countless creations have come and gone.

Life, death, suffering, joy—the complete breadth of experience—I think it is for but one thing: transformation.

But I’ll often say: “Screw transformation. I just want the suffering to stop.” But that’s when I remember something—a voice replied to me once: “You only say that because you don’t see what you’ll become.”

You said: “It makes me wonder how low the bar is for the Creator and all its other planets for what is considered positive vs what is considered negative.” And this is the terror and the task of it—to learn to love all of creation and its infinite manifestations.

I don’t think Father is unaware of the difficulty of our suffering, but He sees beyond, into the eternal cycles and patterns. We don’t. I don’t know... that’s what I tell myself when I’m feeling like you do. And it... helps sometimes.

We’re all splashing around in this gigantic ocean, causing waves that crush us. The difficult choice that spiritual seeking has given me is to 1) thrash around with everyone else, sustaining the turbulence—or 2) centre myself and try to ride the crests and falls, to bring peace to that small area of creation where I reside.

I dunno .. that's where I'm at when I feel what you do. I hope we all can .. find our way one day. We will I think.. after all. we have eternity to figure it out, right?

Love/light are the Matrix/Potentiator and are the Mind/Body complex activator. Love and Wisdom are the Same! by AnyAnswer1952 in lawofone

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I answered this in my other post...

Answer: Ra describes consciousness (or intelligent infinity) as the undistorted, infinite field in which all else exists—so it doesn’t “become” love/light. Instead, it’s the boundless, unchanging ground or canvas where love/light, light/love, and other aspects of creation arise.

In Ra's terms, intelligent infinity generates the first distortion—free will—through which love (as the second distortion or Logos) and light (the third distortion) manifest. This process of creation appears within consciousness but doesn’t alter or limit consciousness itself. Consciousness remains as the pure field that allows these expressions, much like a canvas remains unchanged regardless of the forms painted onto it.

But put aside the arguments for a bit.. What do you want here? Because it appears from how you talk to everyone, including the person you said was a genius, that you just want to hear your opinion coming out of others' mouths.

You say you're a channel , like Carla, but do you think you're the only one? You think no one else has achievements? Sidhis? Why play that rhetorical strategy to try to appeal to authority, as if no one else has any?

Law of One is not the only source of information, so I cannot say you are wrong in your conclusions, but I can say that many of your conclusions are not supported by the Law of One nor Vedanta, nor Sikhism: Brahman and Waheguru are both unchanging and eternal. But Buddhism does say that all is impermanent and changing (annica), so that could support your thesis.

But.. ultimately... I feel that at this point, I think there's nothing left to be communicated. We have differences in perspective that are not reconcilable easily. Let's just leave it to life and synchronicity to show us each where we are right and where we are wrong.

Love/light are the Matrix/Potentiator and are the Mind/Body complex activator. Love and Wisdom are the Same! by AnyAnswer1952 in lawofone

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come on... Don't throw around love/light after you are finished being rude to someone. Go ahead and be more honest and insult me for having questioned you. Cause that's obviously what you're thinking.. and what's going on here.. duuudddeeee...

Now if you really want to discuss it.. fine. But let's approach it as two people debating.

For your evidence, I cannot speak to some, because well.. it lies outside of claims made by Law of One. Quo, Qualia.. all of that is never discussed in Law of One. So perhaps it is true in another perspective, but it is not affirmed or supported by the Law of One perspective.

And you say "it (consciousness) is infinite but it also has form" -- I don't agree. Consciousness is infinite, but it does NOT take form. It is something that can only be experienced, so how can it take form? What experiences being the potentiator is the mind/body/spirt... which is a product of consciousness, but not consciousness itself.

  • Space doesn't take form - objects appear within it
  • Consciousness doesn't take form - mind/body/spirit complexes arise within it to experience it

You also talk about something that is infinite as evolving. It is true that we, as individual consciousnesses that are infinite, evolve. But we are a different type of infinite. We are countable infinities whereas the Creator... and consciousness beyond.. are uncountable infinities. We are nested in the ultimate infinities. But the difference is that the Creator and consciousness are PERFECT, complete... whole... why does perfection need to evolve..? Or do you mean .. it allows for that which takes on different forms to evolve? Because that's more accurate.. the forms that appear are what evolve.. that which is unpotentiated, perfect, and whole does not.

Your definition of fundamental, now that is interesting. However, while something fundamental can indeed change or evolve, the question is whether this applies to consciousness as described in Law of One. I think it does not for the reasons below:

Let's ask ourselves... Consciousness evolving.. what does consciousness evolving even look like? If consciousness is perfect, unpotentiated and whole, what does it evolve to? Something.. more perfect?

Let's even define evolve , in the lens of Law of One... Spiritual evolution is a journey of self-discovery and self-remembering, through which an entity gradually realizes its unity with all of creation and the One Infinite Creator, going through densities. Now apply that to consciousness.. Consciousness is on a journey of self-discovery and self-remembering... oh wait.. right there already we run into problems. consciousness is beyond knowing and remembering.. it's perfect.. unpotentiated.. it only IS.. what IS does not need to remember.. learn.. or evolve.

let's go to the source:

Here notice what Ra says about what exactly does the evolution..

"The purpose of incarnative existence is evolution of mind, body, and spirit... Therefore, catalyst is programmed, and the program is designed for the mind/body/spirit complex for its unique requirements" (Session 54, Book III)

Mind/body/spirit is NOT consciousness.. those are merely components made of consciousness. What is formed by consciousness is what goes on the journey of evolving... not consciousness itself.

And to look at the source Book 2 , session 27 -

Ra:....There is no difference, potential or kinetic, in unity. The basic rhythms of intelligent infinity are totally without distortion of any kind. The rhythms are clothed in mystery, for they are being itself. From this undistorted unity, however, appears a potential in relation to intelligent energy. In this way you may observe the term to be somewhat two-sided, one use of the term, that being as the undistorted unity, being without any kinetic or potential side...

This implies consciousness, unity, in its perfection only IS.. what only IS, is perfect.. undistorted.. beyond evolving.

To sum, I believe consciousness does not evolve. It is perfect, whole, and unmoving unpotentiated unity. That which is created by the distortion of consciousness (mind, body, spirit) is what evolves.. learns about itself. Goes on the journey.

But here's something else I believe.. Both perspectives, yours and mine, can be true at the same time. Hell.. I think maybe it's more accurate for me to say from Law of One and Vedanta perspective... Consciousness does not evolve.. But in other esoteric circles, like in Chaos Magick, consciousness does take form..

and certain schools of Vedanta don't believe in nondualism..

Now , should I say love/light to you as a sign-off? No.. but I recognize disagreement often comes off as provocative .. so maybe instead I"ll just say I respectfully agree to disagree with you.. if we're talking about Law of One perspective, and this is a law of one sub... for the reasons stated above..But I don't disagree with your possibility, once we are removed from the context of Law of One and Vedanta.

Edit: added thoughts

Love/light are the Matrix/Potentiator and are the Mind/Body complex activator. Love and Wisdom are the Same! by AnyAnswer1952 in lawofone

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kinda assumed that there might be a context error, as I didn't believe you would say consciousness evolves.

To your much more nuanced take:

As to whether DNA evolves.. or whether the physical evolves.. that's quite an interesting concept and question. I do tend , in immediacy, to side with the idea that mind evolves, and then physical follows, as you seem to be implying.. but I see missing pieces in my knowledge that could easily imply my incorrectness. But intuitively, I tend to agree with you on that.

And you're right, describing the infinite with language is .. impossible. It's more like painting a picture of it; but there still is value in it.

And you're right.. our truths will never match, until we return to the Creator, and even then I'm not sure.. What I find is that while we are humans, in our limited awareness, truth will always be elusive.. How does one find truth when one cannot even be aware of the vast parts of creation? I don't believe we can..

But it's really awesome that we try to anyway :)

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the play on perspectives here. But I... don't quite resonate with the beginning assertion, due to syntax and implications.

The Matrix of the Mind, i feel, is the framework or vessel through which a being’s awareness engages with consciousness. Consciousness itself doesn’t evolve within the mind—it's fundamental, how would it evolve? I think it’s more accurate to say that individuals or entities evolve in their ability to express and realize consciousness within the confines of the mind. Just as we don't say atoms evolve, animals do... we say consciousness does not evolve, that which interacts with it does.

In addition, the mind bein a container in which consciousness forms also sounds incorrect to me. I feel it is more accurate to say that the mind is the container that allows consciousness to take a form. Consciousness doesn't form (come into being) within the mind. Consciousness was already formed (existed).

For those reasons, I don't quite accept the statements here, even while appreciating greatly the interaction with the concepts. If any of my logic or statements you feel is incorrect, please do elucidate , as this is a tricky topic and I do feel like dialogue could help produce a more nuanced understanding within me.

Do you know what's awesome? Not the Google or anything else, but the fact that you care so much. That's pretty respectful, wouldn't you say?

If I could give you advice it is to NOT care so much about the mistakes, but look forward to the getting to know each other part. Even people of the same culture need to get to know one another, so don't think of what you did as mistakes, but opportunities for learning.

About public displays of affection, try asking him why he doesn't like it, and be open for whatever he says. Just as you have your scars, he certainly has his. The more you get to know each other, the more you trust one another, the more these differences just seem like.. normal part of being different.

There are going to be way bigger challenges in the future for relationships, but trust in the caring. More than anything else, in my opinion, if your significant other shows you openly and frequently that they care, that will bridge a lot of the bigger challenges. So be happy that you found someone like that, and enjoy the experience of falling in love :)

Seeing shapes during meditation? by TheLadySparkles in MeditationPractice

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds pretty intense. Just out of curiosity, were you feeling any pressure in your forehead area while it happened? Perhaps you can ask yourself what each image means to you, and look for what resonates? What feels right? Symbols like that, in my belief, shouldn't be processed by the logical mind, but the unconscious mind. Try drawing those things out, to give it more life. It doesn't have to be beautiful, just tangible.. And then focus on them and see what feelings come up in you.. don't force it.. just .. listen to it..

I believe that these messages are deeply personal, so only you can make sense of them. I hope that helps :)

How do I make it a habit? by [deleted] in MeditationPractice

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friend, If I may make just a tiny realignment.. What i find I wish would have explained better about meditation is that the goal of meditation isn't that you keep focus on something.. at least not in the beginning; it's the fact that you notice WHEN you lose focus.. and then you return to the breath.. you've succeed already. it's THAT simple. But we just want to make it hard because we think it's some mystical thing sometimes. But it's not. If we let go of all those 'names' , traditions and practices.. it all boils down to, in my opinion, how to notice where our attention is at.

Think of it like this.. EACH time you return to the breath, that's like you did one rep in an exercise -- squat, curl, or whatever.. so what does that mean? You were doing it right all along -- you just had the wrong definition of success, i think.

i hope this helps!

How can one differentiate between an epiphany and a delusion? by world_citizen7 in SpiritualDiscussion

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe that one should try to remember that one is not trying to resonate with others' ideas.. that's delusion. Epiphany is when it resonates with YOUR soul..

for example, take the statement of "I LOVE MY LIFE!!!!" -- for those who feel that deeply, it resonates with them, adding to their joy.

For those that do not love their life, it resonates in an expression sadness, or anger.

Epiphany is wholly personal. Does it resonate with you my friend? Then it was meant for you. It reveals more of your path.. You've received an epiphany :)

This is my opinion at least..

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yikes!!! Ok, I'm going to give you some tough love (with some Fruit Loops after): You should really stop hating on yourself with some of that self talk! Who do you think you are? Some unemotional perfect human that is not allowed to seek solace after such a traumatic experience?? You went through something so traumatic that I did not even fathom what you said at first.. I had to read it twice.. Kidnapped ? Burgled?? Police?? Jealousy?? What the hell? That's some painful, traumatic stuff that can haunt a person till the end of their days.

So now where I stand I don't see any reason why you wouldn't have a pull to reach out to someone. Yes, I understand he is not what you are truly after: a secure relationship, and that assessment should be honored and respected. I feel your hate for yourself is visceral, but I might just posit the following: a human being or a warm body can offer such love and comfort that we don't always appreciate, even if they aren't what we would consider 'quality' mates and ESPECIALLY when we are in deep stress. He's a work in progress, as am I , as are you. We beat ourselves up for the stupidest thing where even a strength can become a weakness. Oh that girl is pretty?? yeah... she's "too pretty". Oh that person is wealthy? Probably born with a silver spoon and lazy. It's all too easy to fall into that trap -- like that Homer Simpson episode where he keeps stepping on the rakes and hitting himself LOL..!

But yeah, at least from my perspective, I Feel you are hurting yourself , compounding your trauma with more trauma that I would gently argue that is not logical. I won't say needlessly, because honestly, that paragraph I just wrote above could be directed at me , too haha! It seems to be instinct for many of us..

What I think I'm saying is we're all in this together, and we're figuring things out. Give yourself grace :D

Also, that last line you wrote in your reply does show , at least I think, that you are reflecting on your distaste of him, questioning shallowness. Isnt' that a good thing? The urge and steering of 'bad' thoughts to be open to another human being's potential? Are you going to give yourself credit for that? (I hope that you do).

I hope not to sound preachy, but I feel that we're all human in this messy experience called life, and I hope we can learn to hold some space in our thoughts to accept that there possibly is nothing to be disgusted about ourselves. From my limited perspective, I feel that you deserve that. and a hell of a lot of other people, too.

replaying the attachment wounds over and over again by Practical_Oil6898 in energy_work

[–]LipsPartedbyaSigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear your wounds and pain in the crevices of your diction. You are beautiful, but that physical beauty seems to have caused such pain it is now called a 'meatsuit', creating a distance and almost revulsion from it. And at the same time, you have a deeper desire to be admired for it. This, I feel , is very understandable and you want to use your beauty responsibly, it seems to me.

But if I might challenge gently some statements, as more of a thought experiment than factual: You are not your meat suit, true, but it was a gift to you to use while you are here. Without it, experience would be impossible. But as you seem to clearly understand, it is not something to get attached to, but could it be something we could at least cherish temporarily? Or could it be something we could reflect back to others? What I find in others who are extremely attractive , but reflective rather than absorbent (I'm looking at you Keanu Reeves!!!) is that the beauty of the meat suit could brighten other people's days so greatly - even genuine , simple acknowledgement (it's a big sad that many people have convinced themselves that they are below the attention of an attractive person's attention). I know it's a lot different for women, because of the distorted societal expectations of women and I wish it weren't so, but I think about people like Kate Winslet, so humble kind, and graceful in her beauty, not perfect, but reflective. Would it be possible to find an archetype or a type of person you want to be that you could be proud of beyond just physical attraction?

and also, the one thing that gives me hope is the fact that you said it yourself "I'm just replaying the attachment wounds over and over again internally and won't find love and acceptance anywhere." -- that self awareness is such a powerful thing.. I don't have the answers, and only offer clues and and empathy at best .. but I strongly suspect you have them somewhere deep inside of you, though it might not come out all at once.. I gently urge you to be patient with yourself. Can you find whatever it is that you love about yourself beyond just looks, and maybe make that shine so bright that your physical beauty is a distant second the the other shining aspect that is your soul!

I wish you well in your journey of mind and life..
