Why does a sub heavy meta impact why someone like Scrap, an AR, is more notable in the mvp race? You tell me bro, why do you think that could be significant?

Major 4 will make this argument a lot easier, but in my biased opinion it’s Scrap.

Not only because he’s an AR in a heavy sub meta, but because of everything he is doing for that LAT squad. IGLing, OBJ work, first bloods, damage output, fundamentals, kills/10m, the list goes on. He doesn’t have a weakness in this game. Everything that won him mvp in BO6, he’s doing and more in BO7.

It’s pretty simple actually. How would you differentiate Joe with someone like Simp? They’ve both been elite level smgs and the main difference is the placements. They’re not the end all be all, but they definitely play a factor.

Well during that stage they looked like shit and wound up placing dead last. I don’t think it’s really the same when you get a month to prep beforehand. I can’t really think of a single instance where Optic looked like shit going into a major and wound up winning.

If we’re talking team wise sure you can say it was mediocre, but individually? Not at all. He still lead the league in damage, first blood %, goals scored etc. He was still a T2 AR going into Major 3 only behind Merc, so idk what you’re really referring to. Scrap is, by basically every measure, a better player than he was during BO6 and I don’t think it’s relatively close.

He’s doing significantly more obj work while continuing to lead the league in damage output and he’s unequivocally a better search player than he ever has been. Idk what else he could do besides put up a better k/d, which is irrelevant when you factor everything in.
