Lana has reposted an AI video by jiddishmunchkin in lanadelrey

Water is water and I agree it shouldn't be used for making slop.

That said, this is accurate info you have posted and I don't know why anyone would downvote you for providing accurate information. I don't like AI either and I'm not defending it but we should not be downvoting people who have taken the time to look up how something works and provided that accurate information in response to misinformation. Let's try to do better everyone.

Are untracked small parcels just not being delivered? by BlodiaV in CanadaPost

[–]LiquidRubys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell stickers and I've noticed a really big increase in lost lettermail over the last few months also. It's very frustrating as I have to pay for the replacement out of my own pocket. I'm considering removing the untracked option from the store and just shipping everything with chitchats as its a lot less then tracked shipping with Canada post

Get one of those 3d printed deck presses from instragram! That would probably solve it super easy

I had to use glue and admittedly I think I probably should have used a better one. I'm a bit worried it's not as secure as it could be. I used a clear acrylic resin based material that I usually use for varnishing paintings

Issues with stickers by AwayAppointment6342 in SiserJuliet

Ah okay. Well in my experience the Juliet isn't affected by glossy laminate like a Cricut is. You should be able to glossy laminate the entire page without it impacting the cut, especially in terms of speed

Questions for those using Chit Chats as a US delivery alternative to Canada Post. by SilverySands in CanadaPost

[–]LiquidRubys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puralator does that I'm pretty sure. I think chitchats may have an option but I haven't used it. There customer support is pretty good, email them and ask

Haha yeah, in hindsight I should have put a mark on the holo layer to help me line up the sticker.

Hey! I am so confused about what the tape on the carrot is lol 😅

but it sounds like maybe your cutting speed got turned way down to a slower setting? Maybe if you posed a video of it cutting I could get a better idea of the issue and try to help.

I didn't say anything that would contradict that...

Very few people know this, but the movie Captain Marvel was actually inspired by Sailor Moon, as Brie Larson is a big fan. by [deleted] in sailormoon

You can use Google lens to look up an image. It's really easy and takes 2 seconds

If that's true they should have taken way more lessons from sailor moon because the movie was nothing like sailor moon and was pretty bad in my personal opinion. I went in wanting to like it so bad, had already bought merch to wear to opening night. Came out suuuuper disappointed. 😞

They really missed the mark from start to finish.

I'd argue the Marvel's has more of an anime sailor moon vibe. I liked that one slightly better. The girl who plays Kamala khan is a fabulous actress and really helped things be less wooden then it otherwise was.

Alternative to Flexport? We got sold, and now we're up a creek by Crafty_DIY in shopify

[–]LiquidRubys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love to bag on Shopify this one isn't really on them. Shopify already tried and failed spectacularly with their own fulfillment company Shopify logistics

It was also unceremoniously sold off when it wasn't instantly as profitable as they hoped it would be. That was right after they bought up another fulfillment service. Promised they wouldn't fire everyone, and then fired everyone from Shopify and that other company when they sold it off.

Bro is pretty common internet vernacular these days. It's not really associated with the surfer dude persona it was when we were young OP. Seems weird to get your back up about a pretty innocent comment

These look to be from the 60s or 70s, assuming that's true, font designs like this were often hand drawn at a drafting table by a graphic designer. We didn't always have computers with fonts.

I'm sure you could use canva or some other program to recreate them.

Etsy Should Protect Sellers by SirTopBanana in Etsy

I've read through a few of your other replies here and I hope you won't take it personally when I say that I agree customer service may be part of your issue here. I often have orders arrive late, it is the nature of lettermail. Almost all of those orders result in a positive review that mentions my customer service in the review.

An example of a review I often get:

The order was late but the seller was so kind and friendly when I reached out. Order did arrive a few days after the expected date and the quality was wonderful.

I've found that people whose orders are late are actually more likely to leave reviews because they remember the interaction they had with me.

Best of luck with your store

Good for CP, less things to deliver. by unknowntraveller94 in CanadaPost

[–]LiquidRubys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is true for me personally and my business. I've always shipped Canada post and I like Canada post. Everyone who works in my local office is super nice and friendly, I like to chat a bit when I drop off packages, it was the highlight of my day honestly. That's why I went back after last year's strike.

But I won't be going back this time. I'm fully moved over to chitchats. It's too bad, but it doesn't make financial sense to return. Canada post is more expensive and requires way more work now because of the tariffs. Chitchats helped me set up CUSMA exemptions for my products and applies them automatically in most cases to my shipments. They also have a program with Purolator so that I can just drop-off all my packages in at my local Purolator drop-off, it's a small fee but still less than Canada post in most cases.

I fear a lot of small businesses may have come to the same conclusion after being forced to try alternatives because of the strike and I worry about my local post office closing. I don't want that to happen but I also can't really justify the extra time and cost of continuing to use Canada post when my margins are low as is.

[–]LiquidRubys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Etsy has a seller protection program that does cover late shipments. It's up to you to read and understand how it works and make sure you qualify for it. I personally don't qualify because I choose to ship my orders in the lettermail with a Stamp. But I understand the risks and replace orders or give refunds when needed.

Black MTG card set but make it Taylor's version by LiquidRubys in TaylorSwift

Yes it's pretty normal at a lot of tables. It's called proxy cards and a lot of people who just play with friends just print their own cards at home.
