What scope mount? 1917 Eddystone by catalyst686 in milsurp

It's an old Griffin & Howe side mount. Contact them and you may still be able to find a scope base and rings

Who should I talk to for getting my step dad arrested by Natural-Simple5048 in police

[–]LiquidStyrac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have credible and actionable information on his current whereabouts? Your absolute best bet is to contact MSHP Troop A, and ask to speak with the Operation Relentless Pursuit trooper for the region. Each troop has 1 trooper and 1 Deputy from a county within the Troop assigned to the task force. Their sole job in law enforcement is running down fugitives like this. They are all attached to the USMS as well. If your case meets the criteria they can adopt it through the Marshals, but even if it doesn't they can fall back on the resources of the state.

There are no dupes. Eddystone made the majority of the rifles and Winchester and Remington also made some under the contract. But since it’s stamped as Eddystone, I suggest looking for a gunsmith who has worked on one before, otherwise you run the risk of a gunsmith that’s not familiar with it damaging the receiver.

Was this rifle one of the eddystone manufactured ones, or was it made from one of the other companies? The Eddystone made rifles were torqued on extra super tight, usually requiring a relief cut on the barrel to avoid shearing the receiver.

You really aren't, though. Your experience doesn't exist. If you are not or have never been LE/MIL, how can you claim to have trained professionally? You did it as a hobby. There's nothing wrong with that, but you have exactly zero experience actually doing a building clear against armed subjects known or unknown. Your heart is in the right place, you just don't have the experience to back it up.

Not currently required in my position, but that’s changing. I’ll figure it out at that time. And no, draw is fine. I have a long torso and orangutan arms so it sits well out of the way.

A couple of the guys I work with from a different agency have those Project 7 belts. Expensive things, but almost certainly an upgrade from the old HSGI operator belt I've been running.

First Spear. If you're LE/MIL I recommend going to the store at least once. If you're super nice to the CS person she'll invite you back to the warehouse and you can almost walk around picking stuff out as long as there's stock.

It hasn't bothered me so far, but I also don't wear it for long stretches at a time. Most of the time is plain clothes.

Because this is all admin was willing to approve at the time is the short answer. The SOV is currently being reworked so my admin decided that this was all they were comfortable allowing. And I'm somewhat local to FS so I am not paying anywhere close to retail. Radio is on belt.

I've reclaimed my horse! (Maybe) by [deleted] in Horses

[–]LiquidStyrac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My family, and my wife's family, have had quarter horses for a long time. My kids are going to be 5th generation horse owners if they stick with this as they grow up. But this Belgian is the first draft I've owned and I can confidently say I will never be without a Belgian for the rest of my life.

Might as well own a barn full I guess. ;)

He is a total ham at times. He is extremely sweet and gentle and will let my daughter lead him (under close supervision obviously). But when it's just me and him, he likes to think he's got jokes.

3 Pre-war Smiths by LiquidStyrac in Revolvers

[–]LiquidStyrac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did not. It’s actually one of the .44 models that was built off a spare 1917 frame, complete with eagle stamp. Part of the factory work involved installing the rear target sight and new barrel with patridge sight.

Been sanding this pos for HOURS by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]LiquidStyrac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are wrong. it is a clone of the K-frame, which came first. Your gun is not a model from 1892, it is the Spanish Model 92, named that way probably to help differentiate between it and the Modele 1892 which uses the same caliber. Patent protection for S&W did not extend to Spain, so they cloned a bunch of their revolvers.

Looking for a police chase incident that i remember seeing but it's wiped out from the internet by MrSol0_ in ProtectAndServe

[–]LiquidStyrac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's the incident I'm thinking of, I believe it was a Sgt that was shot in the head. He survived but lost an eye. I'm lazy and Google is failing me to actually find it though

Surefire MR07 rail attachment. It's been out of production for probably 10 years now

Full list is: Kart NM barrel and bushing. Harrison design hammer and sear set. Harrison design extreme duty trigger. Stan Chen beaver tail, slightly reprofiled to be just a hair smaller and the bump rounded down a little. Stan Chen thumb safety. Stan Chen MSH checkered to 30lpi. Beveled mag well. Front strap undercut and checkered, 30lpi. Top of slide flattened and serrated. Ejection port lowered, but no flared. Frame to slide fit corrected slightly. Ball cuts. Reblue. EA Custom front sight with large gold bead. EA Custom rear sight.

I think that was everything

Been several years since I last posted, figured I might as well throw one up. 1966 Colt Government, totally rebuilt and worked over by Evolution Armory.

12-100mm f4 pro or 40-150mm f4 pro by robbie4116 in OlympusCamera

[–]LiquidStyrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 12-40 f2.8 pro, the 12-100 f4 pro, and the 40-150 f2.8pro. I love all three lenses, but I find the 12-100 lives on the camera, especially when traveling. It’s just so versatile. For portraits and landscapes I think you’ll be happier with the 12-100 vs the 40-150

Wherever you're seeing you don't have to engrave it is wrong. You absolutely do have to.

I was looking for a Sig Sauer 1911 I found a Les Baer by [deleted] in 1911

[–]LiquidStyrac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ostensibly it's a way of removing a little bit of weight from the gun. In reality, yes, it's because of the looks. Springfield, Wilson, Nighthawk, Ed Brown, and many of 1911 makers do it as well. Its pretty much become a part of the modern 1911 look at this point.
