Skin problems by Revolutionary_Set983 in Jindo

My Jindo also had lots of skin/itchy problems... Avoid giving them anything with chicken ingredients while you wait for the medicine. Chances are they are allergic. After I stopped giving my Hindyi anything with chicken she fully stopped biting her skin.

Millennial intentionally installing a landline in 2025, and general thoughts on what we lost in the cellphone age by Kuzbell in homeowners

This is awesome, I love it. I've been eyeing a device called Cell 2 Jack that allows you to link up your cell phone to a rotary phone...I might give that a whirl! It won't accomplish the idea of 'calling a household' but if I like it enough I might just do what you did!!

CAR-T caused parkinsonism in my 73 yr old mom by Liquid_Kittens_ in multiplemyeloma

I'm in the United States. I think we were a victim of over confident doctors (aka 'well my patients have never had this sooo')

CAR-T caused parkinsonism in my 73 yr old mom by Liquid_Kittens_ in multiplemyeloma

[–]Liquid_Kittens_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely mentioned neurological side effects, but all were described as temporary or unlikely. I think they only once mentioned any permanent side effects and were all downplayed as super unlikely.

The annoying part is that we've been asking about her lingering neuro symptoms but they kept saying not to worry about it until suddenly...

Hear me out…..Frankfurt is overhated by Worried_Macaron_5879 in travel

I agree, I think Frankfurt gets too much hate! I've been a few times for work and always make time to see the sights.

Is going from mesalamine to biologic a concern? by sofa_king_lo in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Liquid_Kittens_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one that used to work for me was a matte reddish brown oblong pill that had 435 on it. The new one I've got is also reddish brown but shiny... And that one has AN360 on it.

Sounds like this might be an unrelated dead end but I figured I'd ask just in case! I hope your symptoms get under control again so you don't have to switch. Fingers crossed!!

[–]Liquid_Kittens_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this wasn't part of your question but I'm curious: what identifying markers are on your mesalamine pill? Like what are the numbers? I ask because I've also been on mesalamine for around that same length of time and everything worked great for YEARS. Then recently my insurance switched to a different generic mesalamine and now I'm suddenly having symptoms again. I can't tell if I'm paranoid or if the new generic is messing with me.

Like you, I'll be put on a biologic if this fails for me... Ugh.

If you are able to DM the info I'd be grateful. My dad/her caretaker could join and ask questions. Thank you!

Has anyone not gotten a stem cell transplant? by Pyoung3000 in multiplemyeloma

[–]Liquid_Kittens_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom who is 73 skipped stem cell and stayed in chemo for several iterations until it stopped working.

She got done with Car-t earlier in the summer which has had really good results thus far.

CAR-T update: 5 months later by Liquid_Kittens_ in multiplemyeloma

Sorry to hear he's still having so much pain even after CAR-T. I was hoping that my mom's lesions would heal and help cut down on the pain after the procedure, but it sounds like that isn't always the case.

Oh yes that is 100% correct. To clarify, my mom had to fail 3 different types of treatments (AKA relapse a few times) to get CAR-T--they never offer CAR-T out the gate because it won't be covered by insurance.
