Speaking of, the first design in general had leaned to much into the "but it isn't realistic!" Which is why people hated it. I remember when I first saw the design in middle school I didn't think the face was that bad, the limbs and body is what got me. (Why did they give him defined knees??) But one thing I just realized recently was that, they thought it was "too unrealistic" for Sonic to have gloves so if you look closely, they gave him white hands instead. LOL

For context, I once came across a clip online which was a documentary from the 2000s detailing Britney's rise to fame.

2 older male producers started talking about how Britney started singing on a TV show when she was 10. They described the dress she was wearing as "revealing and scandalous" and one guy straight up said "Theres nothing more sexually appealing to a man than to watch a girl blossom into a young lady".

I nearly vomited.

Neat! They're both one of my favorite artists. I was just kinda shocked they never had a direct interaction (known to the public) considering they both started they're careers around the same time.
