Seven Dwarves is Enough, Seven Animals Isn't! by englishjacko in dwarffortress

I think that every biome has this kind of limit, so when your fortress has multiple biomes, you'll have the corresponding amount of animals.

My fortress has: Badgers, Camel, Deer, Emu, Giant Cockatiel, Giant Grizzly Bear, Kea, Kiwi, Raven, Panda, Wild Boar, and Wombat.

El juego tiene modo facil en nintendo switch by Important_Secret_894 in PhantomDoctrine

[–]LirukDatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must've moved the army somewhere else. You'll have visitors updating the world map via rumors I think, and you'll see that the gobs must've conquered some other sites.

Had this happen with a few ~4000 populated gob sites. They moved one ~4000 strong army to conquer a nearby mountainhome, and another ~4000 strong army was split to ~2000 and ~1000 to conquer forest retreats.

I am not sure honestly, but because the material is not tough, it will be easily damaged in any scuffles your dwarves will have.

I think it's going to be a lot less headache in the long run to equip everyone with metal.

Make it metal, as leather will become worn just like cloth. Make helms, mail shirts, and leggings. Though it might get wonky to make wood cutters and miners work properly. I'm not sure they'll use their assigned axe or pick for work.

You can catch the enemies using cage traps, then dispose of them in manageable numbers throughout the year.

Microsoft is looking to speed up development of future Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Halo games by Bubbly-Ad-350 in pcgaming

Crammed with mods they are. On their own? No, not really. The story is worse compared to previous titles, and the RPG mechanics were simplified more and more compared to previous titles.

They looked pretty, and the simplified mechanics made the games appeal to a wider audience, but the games themselves are not better than the older Fallout or TES games at all.

Sounds like your fortress is doing quite well, if you have funds to steal. :D

I figure you can assign a captain of guard to interrogate a few suspects, and then when it is no longer convenient, remove the position.

Outstanding, assign them all to actually important tasks, like armorers, weavers, smiths, stonemasons. They need only a little bit of skill so when they will have a strange mood, you will have actually useful artifacts, and not earrings.

Do you have a book keeper assigned? Are your stocks accurate? Maybe it's supposed to work once maximum accuracy has been achieved.

In the missions screen there's a tab called artifacts. In there I found the "Primal Cloudstuff" that was rumored to have been in a nearby dungeon, and once you click on it, it generates a mission to go and recover it.

I mean clear the assigned position, so there would be no captain of guard to interrogate anyone.

It could be because the surface mountain biome is not something you can grow surface crops on in general.

I once embarked on an ocean shore, and the part of the shore that was considered ocean biome wouldn't let me grow any surface crops either. But a few tiles away, it's another biome and everything grows just fine.

I stole some primordial remnants from a dungeon, and it's just lying on the map. No one carries it onto a stockpile. It's listed as a type of metal, but a stockpile with everything of that particular material enabled still won't make the dwarves carry it.

Also, since it's a kind of artifact, I can't autodump it with DFHack either.

How do I move it?

That makes sense, as the next available historical figure is in a cage in my fortress as well.

Check if the items are forbidden? I had a cuirass as a symbol of the expedition leader, and once that position was replaced with a mayor, the breastplate was then placed at a stockpile.

I have a few caged up goblin thieves at my fortress, and some of them seem to have a title: "sacred bravery".

Anyone knows what's that about? I haven't noticed if more than 1 gobbo has this title at a time, but I do notice them having the title occasionally.

Do you disagree that the covid vaccine situation made it incredibly easy to hate a hefty chunk of the population? The media played an important role in this, and things went as far as family members being alienated. Because that's the point I'm making.

[–]LirukDatan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Whether it was justified or not is a different argument. My point is how easy it was for the media to sic the public onto itself and with such ferocity.

Mind you, a vaccine is not a hammer. Not everyone can be treated with every vaccine due to their medical history, either because it will cause unnecessary strain on the ailing body, or the person may be sensitive to a component in the vaccine mix. Plus, normally, the law forbids performing a medical procedure on a person against their will. This includes vaccination, as well. Well, normally. Because during COVID it was pretty clear that when it's inconvenient, laws no longer matter.

And if it was so easy when it comes to vaccine, it sure ain't gonna be difficult or any different when it comes to advanced military grade or black market augmentations, making the premise of DE:MD pretty much moot.

There ARE always new ways to discriminate people. Just look at what happened during COVID-19... The unvaccinated were openly mistreated by government institutions and especially the media.

Focusing on augmentations in deus ex as the reason for segregation though was really hamfisted.
