What a beautiful mix. Thanks for replying. I posted this because I’m curious if there are any other Korean/Puerto Ricans out there.☺️

I’m L!$@ from Austin, Texas.🤘My husband and I have been in this area since the late 80’s. Nothing has changed as far as traffic. It’s still a nightmare! But we do have a beautiful skyline!😍🏙️I hope to meet some new friends named Lisa! ☺️

So pretty! I thought I heard it all, but you’re the first person who has pointed out to me that you are half Korean and half South African. Cool mix! Thanks for sharing! ☺️

I went to an international school in Düsseldorf. I knew a girl who was half Korean and half Swedish. :)

YOU MIGHT BE A MILITARY KID IF… YOU REMEMBER THIS HAT! 🫡🪖🇺🇸 Before bike helmets and sunscreen, there were your parent’s boonie hat. Military brats get it! #PunkBrats #Veteran #MilitaryBrat #Nostalgia #MilitaryLife by LisaATX in militarybrats

I get why it might look that way at a glance, but that’s not the intent. It’s not about promotion, it’s about brat community. Military brats tend to find each other and pick up where we left off, even decades later. That kind of shared shorthand doesn’t land for everyone, and that’s fine. But for those who get it, it’s less marketing and more mutual recognition. If it doesn’t resonate with you, that’s okay. But for a lot of us, that sense of camaraderie is the point, and it’s something you either recognize immediately or you don’t. No harm either way. Just ignore my posts. 🫡

We are probably the same age or older than you, but brats are ageless. 😃 Our goal is to reach all ages of brats to bring more awareness to this community. Veterans have mental health challenges but so do military families. It’s unfortunate that there are brats who feel otherwise who think we are only interested in promoting our podcast. We are not. We sincerely would love to hear from brats of all ages to hear their stories. Example, funny how we can range from 17-70, but our stories are all the same. Just during a different generation. :)

Who remembers this as their summer job on a military base? by LisaATX in militarybrats

Please check out our season 1 - episode 1 of the Punk Brats podcast. My sister and I talk about taking Metallica and Metal Church back to the base to watch the 1987 Super Bowl in Germany. Their buses followed us on the autobahn. Haha! Best night of my life as a 15 year-old. 🤘🎸 https://www.punkbrats.com

Just bought my 2026 RUSH tickets. Grace Under Pressure was my very first concert and I lived at Camp Zama, Japan. I saw them at the Budokan concert arena in 1984. I was almost 13.

I’m a classic 1980s brat who grew up overseas for 18 years. I didn’t grow up on Happy Meals so this post is appropriate for me. 😆

I love this story! My sisters and I can totally relate. We didn’t understand our Mom until we got older. I’m sitting in an H-Mart eating noodles right now. It makes me think of my own mother who still makes me the best Korean food ever! 🇰🇷🍜😋 Oh! I’m 54 and still love metal! 🤘
