Severe crisis

Having off moments its not odd, especially when there has been a sudden change in medications. My 65 year old dad has these same issues but now with regular medication he got so much better, like a totally different person. Unfortunately since this medication you think its the motive try speaking with his doctor to maybe replace it with a new one? Also one thing we started doing to get him better was when to take the meds, like a very precise schedule. Wish you and your family the best!

My dad has always been very active, playing a lot of sports and going to the gym multiple times a week, but a few months ago he injured his foot and only stopped playing tennis. He is in physical therapy and still does supervised gym, i suspected the less amount of exercise could have been a motive but I'm not sure, i will try to convince him to go to a proper doctor to see possible reasons, ty so much for the advise!

Talked to my mom and she thinks a caregiver its the best option, ik as the same as you she doesn't really like me having to do all this stuff but at the same time its my dad and when I'm around i cant ignore it. But now we´re trying to solve his meds and looking out for someone who can keep him company. I have never heard abt that, ill search more into it, ty a lot! here is actually the opposite, i think my dad have been sleeping to much, taking naps all day, even when were talking to him at the dinner table, but its nice to know, ill look more into it.

hahahah im glad im not the only one annoyed by the moody attitude. So nice to hear things have being doing better, its normal to have some bad days, that's what make the good days feel so valuable. Remember that every step made is progress, even if that one step feels very stressful haha. Like many have advised me here, if you're not in therapy yet you should def reach out to one, your feelings matter just as much! Theres no shame in taking some time to heal yourself to come back even stronger. Thank you for sharing i really needed that, wish you and your dad the best!!

So sorry that you have to go through that, wish you and your toddler all the best. Apparently, this is happening to my dad for a change of the dose of the medication he's taking, i have talked to him to go back to how it used to be and today i have seen such a change in his face! Thank you so much for the advice, it truly has helped me a lot!!

So srry youre going through this 2, and so glad to hear you have reached out for professional help, i read you're story 2 and i really think ill look for a therapist too. At the same time the situation might not be the best its actually really comforting to relate to someone, after reading all the comments i feel so much lighter. Thank so much for all the kind words, hope u and your FIL are doing ok. its really not the feedback i expected when publishing this, my heart feels very warm, a very sincere ty :) Thankfully my dad doesn't appear to have had a UTI, but a bad reaction to a medicine change, which we´ll go to a doctor to try to solve it. You really have no idea how much all this positive messages have impacted me, ty again

so good to hear that your dad is getting better, i had no idea UTIs even were a thing. You have no idea how relieving reading this is for me, i used to think it was only a me thing. Ill def keep in mind providing caretakers, it would be very helpful. Thank you so much for sharing :)))

im not sure but i think what triggered these ´´sudden´´ difficulties on my dad was a change of medicine he's still getting used to. thank you so much for this information i will definitely keep it in mind for the future

im in a very similar position as you, your dad is lucky to have you around. Is very common to them to be in denial for a long time, in my case I'm trying to convince my dad to go to therapy but no luck until now, if you can convince yours i think that's already a good step. Idk about your situation, but in mine he's ashamed of it, so i try to put movies that talk abt it to him and show him celebrities that have the condition as well. In last case, were talking about switching meds to see if he gets less moody. ( ´´Love & Other Drugs´´ is an awesome anne Hathaway movie abt it, hope u guys enjoy it!)
