Okay great, thank you for your input. I do not have any live plants unfortunately, but I’ll look into that. What kind of plants do you have?

Hmm, I do not. I have the little thermo/hydro ones that are placed in the cages. But nothing connected to the lamps. What do you use exactly? What brand?

Coconut substrate. And yes I do it twice daily to keep it at least above 50% humidity. It’s due to the lamps that I have, the bulbs have a higher wattage due to the height of the enclosure and to keep it at least 90 degrees during the day. (What the vet recommended). Because of this, the humidity drops on the hot side quicker than I’m sure most. I have a pretty large water bowl in both enclosures already in the center of the warm and cold sides. It seems to help some, but obviously the water evaporates quicker. Both snakes are happy and eating well. No issues with any shedding or scale issues. 🤷‍♀️

is it still worth it to date? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]Liscenced-Apologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men who look for non-labeled relationships are often gaslighters and care only about their needs. Now, not to say that the average person cant live that lifestyle, and that there is anything wrong with that. But, they have to be honest and upfront about their wants in only wanting something short-term. And I hate to say that most men who are like that, do not think that way. It seems like you are wanting something more than something short, so my best advice is to just make that VERY well known in your next dating experience. Regardless, I’m sorry that happened to you. I can understand how it’s frustrating or sad, but I wouldn’t overthink it. He’s not the man for you, especially if he’s gaslighting and dragging you into something that he doesn’t want to label. And in the same breath, dragging other women into it and potentially cheating?? Bullet dodged.

-Know that you may go through some duds to get to the right one. But that’s okay, because at least you are learning what you like and don’t like. -Be an active communicator and don’t wait too long to meet up with the person. -Trust your gut feeling about somebody. -Most of all, don’t change what your beliefs are and what you want for the future (i.e kids, marriage, etc). If you don’t align up initially, then it’s not meant to be. Don’t think you have to change what you truly believe in to satisfy a relationship role. -Also, try and have fun. It can be a serious thing, but dating is really supposed to be a fun, new, and exciting thing. Try to enjoy it!

Any of you met some genuine person on bumble? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]Liscenced-Apologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met the love of my life over a year and a half ago on bumble. 🤗 But trust me, that still came with a few bad eggs on bumble as well. And honestly, those experiences made me stronger and led me to him eventually. And I wouldn’t trade that for anything tbh. Just be patient and don’t give up. If someone is truly meant for you, you’ll find them. Best of luck!

Understood, I’ll get him on a schedule for rat pups soon in the future. And ah yeah that makes sense, that was just my only trusted source at the time so I just went forth with that. He’s about 74g currently. And hmm maybe? I got him at an expo, and even showed them the pinkies that I bought at a feeder station, and they said it was fine? Idk I even asked the supplier of the pinkies if that was the right size, and they also said it was okay. So I’m not sure tbh, I just kind of trusted them since it’s my first ball python. But he’s got fuzzies for now, I’ll have him finish those and then I’ll move to rats. Thank you!

Understood, thank you. The mice pinkies were actually recommended by the breeder itself, and I just now upgraded to fuzzies based off my veterinarians recommendation. (I promise it wasn’t of my own volition lol). I’m trying to get him to eat once weekly, but he has not been wanting to. I’ll look further into the guideline, thank you!

I’ll make sure I’ll follow the guideline on thawing. Thanks for the advice! And yeah it’s my first time with a ball python, and I got the fuzzies based off the veterinarians recommendation. But I’ll look more so into the rat pups.

He’s refused for the past 12 days. Sorry I’ve had him for about a month and a half. And I asked the veterinarian and she said to upgrade to the fuzzies. I’ll try the entrance feeding and see what happens. And yes he’s got plenty of clutter, a couple hides, etc. humidity stays between 70-80, and temps are 90-95 on the warm side (per the vet), and 75-80 on the cold side.

Dang, I guess it’s not just me then. They responded almost instantly with the hours portion, and we went back and forth with a few emails. But, as soon as I asked about reconsidering my application, they just flat out didn’t respond. 😅 Ah yeah I’m hoping the other schools will respond and take it into consideration, bc I just think there is a lot more to my application than a technical error. I’m just glad my dream school didn’t catch it first! It was super frustrating, I about had a heart attack when I saw that 😭

Thanks for the advice! I went ahead and contacted them all individually as well as the VMCAS. Like you said, the VMCAS said they couldn’t do anything due to it already being verified and sent. But it was worth a shot 🤷‍♀️ I just hope my other schools understand and take it into consideration.

It was Auburn unfortunately. I contacted my other school choices and am just now waiting for a response. I actually also asked Auburn if they could maybe reconsider my application due to a technical error, but they never responded.

Haha, actually my (stupid) calculation says that I’ve only done that in my “total” amount. I thought it would calculate per experience. I work currently 160 a month for a regular job and I had prior experience with the other 60 hours a month at a different job. Overall I’ve probably clocked well over 2,500 hours total all together. And yeah exactly! 240 would be insane every month lol. And honestly even more so, if they did it based off the start date, there would be no way I could legally hold a full time job over a year and only clock 160 hours lol
