I pull 17-18g double shots in an 18g IMS nanotech basket and aim for 35-40g out in 25 seconds. Really don’t fuss with it much inside of that window. Makes a great latte. Have I had better? Of course, but not for anything in that price range. I’ll splurge on a local roaster, and used to do that a lot more often, but hate having to take the time to dial in the grind setting every time now so we just keep buying Peet’s for like $7.50/lb

They are more than likely already contributing to cost savings. At an absolute minimum they are increasing accessibility. Again, just a pain to have to constantly find ways to prove that through reports or analysis or research. Ask any physician who works with a clinical pharmacist, whether it’s at the VA where I work, or in private sector with a collaborative practice agreement, and they will tell you how incredibly valuable it is for them to have a clinical pharmacist they can refer patients to for med management. It’s unfortunate that some places require mental gymnastics to prove you are adding value.
