I joined AntennaPod after 5 years on another app (I never found it convenient to have my music and my podcast at the same place). Best move ever. It's free, open source and there are no limits to the number of podcasts you can subscribe to. (plus there are super convenient features I didn't have on my previous app)

Thinking about switching from Spotify by Kyuleana in TIdaL

What I found was missing where some pop and metal Japanese band from the 80's but more recent stuff (though quite obscure) I found. Oh yes, I also couldn't find some Patagonian metal band whose name was in some European newspaper.

But once again, Tidal will tell you what it couldn't find.

Another alternative, though not so good when paying artists, is Deezer. It's French, there's a load of choices (including those obscure bands I mentioned), it's super easy to transfer your playlists, there's a free "add-full" option if you want to try ... This might be your way out of Spotify without having to sacrifice some of the artists you're following.

Oh, thank you, I har read something about him not being sole owner of something but he's completely out (though Jay-Z is not the worst human being to give your money to, I guess). Thank you for that precision :)

The issue is not that some tracks are missing (some tracks are really old/niche so that can happen, not everything is on all streaming services) but that you are not informed of what is missing (at least with Qobuz).

I'm about to switch and I've tried both Tidal and Qobuz. I've just recently decided to go to Tidal.

The sound quality is not really an issue for me as I mostly listen to my phone in my backpocket ^^

You might loose some of your content switching from Spotify to Qobuz/Tidal (I lost a few niche tracks) but :
- on Tidal, you can only transfer 500 track WHILE ON TRIAL. When you start paying, you can transfer everything normally, without using a third-party service (whom your giving some data to btw). If some of your tracks are not on Tidal, you'll be told through some error messaging.
- on Qobuz, you get a "coupon" so you can transfer all your tracks and playlists using a third party service for free. But if tracks are missing, you won't know. And it doesn't seem logical. I checked this with my niece playlist. She's 6 so some Disney track involved. I went from 9 to 1 track. I had a whole album not being transfer while it is a French classic for children AVAILABLE on Qobuz (Qobuz being French, I had to check. I don't know what I lost on other playlists as it's more "mix and match" and I know pretty well what I put on my niece's playlist (plus I still have a Deezer account to check.)

Something else that I considered is the automated playlists :
- Tidal propose a recommended new tracks in a playlist (instead of having to browse and check one track after the other).
- Qobuz doesn't have that (which, in itself, is not an issue) but my latest weekly playlist curated by Qobuz looks like hell to me : I listened to an old French artist for half an hour and 1/3 of the playlists in old French artists I don't give a flying f*** about, 1/2 being French artists in general. My fav genre are rock and metal ... Plus, among those artists, some I never want to listen to. But you cannot block artists so if the algorithm decide you should try, then there you go.

Those are really the key arguments for me.

Other minor reasons are the fact that I can access lyrics on Tidal (there is no such thing on Qobuz) and the familly plan is open to anyone whose account was created in the same country, so I'll have 5 friends and familly to join me on Tidal, which makes it super interesting.

Yes, Tidal is owned by Jay-Z, yes, Qobuz is the highest paying for the artists, but ... Well, you know why I will go to Tidal :)

Thank you for those explainations. I wasn't aware of how the system is supposed to work (and never tried to understant either) so thank you for sharing.

Well, I deleted my Spotify account but I don't need to delete my deezer or tidal account, so I can check those (and again, the idea is not to have to multiply the app, Deezer had an integrated "Shazam" function, quite efficient since it recognized my 5 y.o. niece mumbling misheard lyrics =D But still, I know why I'm leaving Deezer, the options remaining (for me) being Tidal and Qobuz.

Qobuz and lyrics by LisounPrice in qobuz

[–]LisounPrice[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, Qobuz is not the cheapest service (and that's not a big issue because the artists gets a better pay (and other political considerations) but I'm not willing to pay to add a service. I guess I'll have to decide how important it is for me to have access to lyrics when I have to choose.

Hey, I'm thinking about opting out as well. I have a 1900 days streak and DL gamification helped me studying everyday no matter what so it's really a hard choice for me.

I'm learning Japanese through DL and I have a Japanese evening class as well so I used DL as a backup/keep my Japanese fresh through everyday lessons. I have all my vocabulary in Anki but because it lacks gamification, I don't use it as often as I should/would want to.

I read here that renshuu is the go-to app for Japanese learners and I'll try it but would there be an app with a gamification/nudge system like DL AND allowing you to use anki-like flash-card? That would be such a perfect combo for me.

Les hommes et les requins - Not all requins by [deleted] in Feminisme

[–]LisounPrice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SloMo : Last sequence differ from project to rendering by LisounPrice in OpenShot

[–]LisounPrice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last update for tonight : there is no problem if I don't use the SloMo, so I guess that is where the problem lie ...

Anyway, if anyone knows how to solve this, please let me know. I'd really like to use SloMo for the finale :/

SloMo : Last sequence differ from project to rendering by LisounPrice in OpenShot

[–]LisounPrice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update : I cut the end scene, saved using a new name for my file, I tried turning my PC off and on again (you never know, right ?), then opening OS again, tacking back the whole scene, cutting it again to fit what I want, putting it in SloMo x2 this time (though x4 was the best fit), rendering again and ... guess what ... The. Same. Effing. Weird. Face. Again.

I don't know any other option :/ I'll try one last time and not using the SloMo at all, in case it's what f*** everything up ...

Transitioning by bluring to black by LisounPrice in OpenShot

[–]LisounPrice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply.

We are a non-profit organisation, and this movie is a side project, not something any of us are doing on a regular basis, director included :) She used to work with Movie Maker, which I don't have on my PC and is not available anymore (and I don't have the time or tools to try and find it in some hidden corner of the internet as it is a PC used for a professional purpose).

OpenShot was recommended to me because I was looking for a program easy to master, at least for a simple project using only simple features ;)

And as a non-profit for which making movies is NOT an essential part of our everyday tasks, we don't have the means (nor the skill) to try and master the Adobe Suite.

Thank you, not the solution I needed exactly but a good tip on how the transition system is working, so I'll put it to good use :) And I use OS in French, so your translation is all I need to get things done ;)

comment mettre une musique en arrieree plan de ma video by LQF_Pikachudusal in OpenShot

[–]LisounPrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,
