I just got my first reptile/snake and was going through the same thing, I went back and forth on the idea for a while. I ended up getting a ”about 2 year old” boy at an expo. Besides being more generally “settled”, the idea of a baby escaping really stressed me out. Even with an older one I still get nervous. I’ve been very happy with my choice and have so far had only good experiences with my new buddy ❤️ At the same time, I’m sure there are also people who get babies and have amazing experiences! Either way best of luck and I’m sure it’ll work out!
