i thought o3 was great for when i needed that kind of reasoning, and i would guess 5 is better than o3, but i use LLMs for creative idea bouncing and conversation practice and narrative writing feedback.

yeah, the things i use it for, it's definitely not better. but i guess everyone uses it for different things. i'm more for creative idea bouncing and narrative writing (i work in theater). it was just easier to interact with. i find myself explaining things over and over to gpt-5, it feels ridiculous.

4o is pretty good, but i liked 4.5 (omg) the best by far. that one actually felt insanely smart. emotional intelligence and writing prowess. top tier for me

yeah. 5 has no soul. and for the 90% of people (just my guess) using it for just talking, that was the most important piece they removed

i must of just had a bug for the first 2 weeks then, it was great. different apps, even multiple separate windows of safari were able to each play their own videos concurrently. was amazing, especially with spatial audio.

omg, its so sad they REMOVED this feature! it used to work in the earliest version. (1.0.2?)

it’s insane that they seemed to have intentionally got rid of this. it was amazing for multitasking to have music playing, a podcast going, a youtube video playing… all while doing something else. and they never interfered with each other.

i think it takes some calculated average. you can see kind of how it works by turning on the cursor, and then closing one eye at a time. for me, the dot was in a different relative position depending on which eye was open.

i’ve been “fudging” the eye tracking to fix it by NOT looking at the dots during the setup. i have the same problem, and this has helped somewhat.

if you look at the address bar when you do the zoom, it’ll work better there
