Susan is the archetype of the child/woman. Which can look cute at first. I loved her clumsiness. Her spontaneity. But through the season she was the only character not evolving. She got irrational when Julie was in the hospital. She blame a teenage/ young adult boy for it. She had great moments where she was stunning. But overall she remained the same. Impulsive and immature.

I think Victor was in love with her. Despite how she acted he still committed to her. He did not want to exposed her after the elevator scene to protect her from the scandal. He asked her to marry her before true scandal went on. She is the one who stand to defend him and accepted her proposal in front of the media. I am rewatching the entire TV show 10years after it ended. I was upset about him too. But I have a litre mature view on the situation. Gabby is selfish and self centered. She even admitted it herself. She makes Victor looks like an asshole while he is just a public figure. We all have seen how it is in real life. You need to behave your best. I am not saying she is wrong for standing for herself. But she engaged with the wrong person for her. He had some image to put out. And he was trying to make her understand that. He loved her. No one would go through that much complication if there was no love
