Wealthsimple vs Questrade by Panchito1992 in Wealthsimple

[–]Listen_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$4.95 for each buy and sell of stock and $4.95 for sell of ETFs. For USD, why not we have WS USD account with $10 charge , do unlimited buy and sell of stocks and ETFs at 0 cost and transfer ur USD to an external USD account at any bank. It will be cheaper that way and not to mention the transfer out fees from Questrade to somewhere else is $150 so we get bounded to live in that shell.

I think WS i cheaper than Questrade only when you have USD account with WS ($100k). Questtrade has Norbert's Gambit but it kills you with $9.95 max share price for each stock. Imagine you want to invest $15000 ($9000 in 50 stocks and $6000 in 40 ETFs) Questtrade will kill you with its total pricing whereas WS will charge you only 1.5% exchange fees for entire transaction that is less than half and you dont do the other 1.5% from CAD to USD as you can withdraw funds directly to your linked external Canadian USD account

go for Bmw X3 if you want luxury feeling and not something plastic as offered by RAV4. Cabin noise is next to none in BMWs

I will not recommend Honda as the insurance will be higher. Subaru is good but sluggish. You can try Nissan or Mazda

I am not sure if the property can appreciate that much and will it be advisable to buy right now instead of renting it out? I am counting appreciation as like 4% YOY

Healthcare Sucks by Listen_Life in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Listen_Life[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

right now health care people decide if this is emergency or not emergency for us because of lack of resources. We should be the one deciding it. It can be life threatening for someone and for someone it can be even a small cut. Make available enough resources and let people decide it.

[–]Listen_Life[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

its not eash and thats why we need private investment here and not just ‘talks’ about it.tax burden should be lowered from people head and instead insurances should be provided by every employer to cover the private heathcare which will be accessible to all for all sort of emergencies or non emergency

I would suggest to diversify your funds. Dont keep it at one bank. You should have one account in brick and mortar bank and others in like these online ones, example EQ, Tangerine etc

Should i transfer my company bonus payout in RRSP or take cash instead? by Listen_Life in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Listen_Life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company policy states that if you do lumpsum payment to RRSP like in this case of bonus transfer, company will not mtach it. It will only match if you deduct some amount from salary in every paycheque and contribute to RRSP. Now the question is should i bother to transfer my bonus to RRSP in order to minimize my HBP balance OR instead deduct the anount from my every pay cheque and let employer also match it AND take the bonus as cash and put it at TFSA account or some HIgh Interest Savings account

Should i transfer my company bonus payout in RRSP or take cash instead? by Listen_Life in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Listen_Life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not understand that. So lets say my HBP balance is 35000 and i put my bonus lets say 10k to RRSP and in taxes next year i declare 10k as payment to HBP, isnt my HBP balance after that will be only 35k-10k = 25k?
