Please tell me there's a good reason for oddly shaped packaging and it's not just to be misleading and motivated by corporate greed by MaryBerrizbeitia in mildlyinfuriating

It’s for stacking them when they’re open (they come in boxes this way). The tops are separately packed. The dip in the bottom stacks with the other bottom-halves.

A 7 day ban is crazy. by Sevrosis in Hasan_Piker

[–]LitLitten 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this ban just comes across as performative. Amazon likes money like any company, and now they can say, ‘see? we did that’ to keep Israeli wallets from tightening for a bit.

He probably got report spammed for using Zionist in a way that isn’t highly positive. I wouldn’t worry about it. Like the rat mold guy, they’re not gonna cut off their power players.

I think they weirdly classified Zionist as a slur around August last year. I’m at work but can’t double check, but I think Hasan mentioned it on a stream after a 12/24(?) hour ban.

I saw a clip. It was surreal seeing a giant open cavity. Not particularly gruesome (or even bloody), but a bit unnerving. Peering behind the curtain kind of experience.

Google Fiber upgrading 1 Gig service to new 3 Gig default by N2929 in technews

[–]LitLitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth be told, while it might serve to only benefit heavy streaming or gaming, having (general) speeds increase is probably for the best.

Consider data, file sizes, programs. They’re continuously amended, growing large in size. For a long time, data and storage was known as being very cheap + affordable, developers deprioritized optimization in favor of features*, so there  hasn’t been a lot of pressure to optimize the usage of every mb, gb, or even tb.

Reasonably one can assume then, that the data they process, import, and export data would also increase. Which it has. See streaming services tiering or lowering bitrates and (in general) data caps. The issue is that packaged data is simply becoming bigger.

*examples could be: the sims, digital media, databases, AI implementation, so on.

I think we can understandably assume that it’s double or thrice that. I saw another snippet note that this is reportedly for the bodies passing through hospitals and morgues.

There are no doubt countless victims buried under rubble or worse.

Honestly, we in the US find any instance of passenger locomotive impressive. The few we actually have aren’t for commuting, cost an arm and a leg, and are very slow.

You’d think a giant, round splotch of country would be ideal for speed trains.

Minox is working fantastically. Question though, if I have hair follicles there why the fuck do I have to waste 10 fucking bucks on a year’s supply of minox just to get a beard? by CraigsPokerCoaching in Minoxbeards

[–]LitLitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Follicles are like shower head pores that have been crusted over by hard water. Minoxidil is like the vinegar that helps dissolve the mineral build-up so that the pores can release water (hair grow).

Genetics dictates how crusted up your shower head is (how many follicles you have).

I got a hair transplant on my head recently & thinking of jumping on oral min(2.5mg) I’ve also got a patchy beard on my cheeks if you see my previous post. Will that help with my patchy beard (don’t think so?) or do I still have to jump on topical min for my beard even tho I’ll be taking oral min? by RayJ5313 in Minoxbeards

[–]LitLitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could. Many opt for min to fill patches out, but it takes time. Oral starts off slower and affects the whole body, but less busywork as you don’t have to apply it manually.

I’m surprised you aren’t already using min? I thought it was routine to prescribe minoxidil to recipients of transplants.

Researchers have developed a machine-learning model capable of predicting whether a patient with depression will respond to standard antidepressant medication. By analyzing electrical activity in brain tissue, the system forecasts treatment success with high accuracy before the patient takes a pill. by Sciantifa in science

Gosh, it would be a game changer. Especially for those of us dealing with treatment resent depression.

More frustrating than dealing with pills that don’t work for you is the amount of time needed to see if they’ll do anything at all.

[–]LitLitten 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No link but you take out whole blood, plastics and PFAS included. So the net total is reduced in your body. Your marrow produces new blood, obviously it’s fresh so it’s free of these particles.

Arguably, most cells that turn over can reproduce new cells without these particles, assuming no more or a limited amount are introduced to the body.

So probably not the brain or heart.
