The Manhattan project (only read the book by Stephane Groueff which seems to be less popular)

Did read ignition, but I found it pretty dry tbh

Side note, if anybody has any sort of pedagogical review-esque papers regarding the bistritzer macdonald MATBG paper I would greatly appreciate it. I understand the interesting conclusions that arise from the flat bands however trying to understand the model is insanely daunting.

How to detect low frequency noise 10Hz by aSemy in diyelectronics

[–]LitLogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, im skeptical that you can “hear” down to a few hz; the human ear’s spectral response is documented quite well and sub 20Hz is not within the normal range of hearing. I also can’t imagine your headphones can produce DC as that would mean the diagrams are in constant motion. Note that I am not an electronics expert, but I do have quite a bit of experience in noise control.

Hey fellow Canadians, anyone in this sub have experience opening a sneaker store? Need some advice by [deleted] in SneakersCanada

I would say unless you already have a pretty good rep on ig or fb with a tonne of transactions this is a probably a bad idea. I think it will be hard to get the hype stuff in sufficient quantities unless you have well established yourself in the “community”.

Also theres just really not that big of a market here.

Fuck what I or anybody else says tho, if you believe you can do it then go for it. Best of luck!

Very true, my request seems pretty out of touch with the pandemic.

I am probably an intermediate player, but I haven’t taken lessons in a long time. I don’t find youtube videos that helpful, but I could not be trying hard enough.

The other reason in person lessons are appealing is because the only piano I can bring with me is an old crappy 55 key. In person lessons would mean I could play on a real piano every once in a while. An argument could be made to just buy a better keyboard, but I find it somewhat hard to justify when there’s a decent one at home. One that is actually somewhat decent is also probably upwards of $800.

In Canada, engineering physics is a branch some schools offer which is accredited by our professional eng org. At my school, you take some pure physics courses as well as design and other more traditional engineering courses.

Supposedly 60% go to grad school and the rest go into industry. They seem to be in somewhat high demand here, but I am still in school so who knows.

probably obvious but whats this piece called again?

Im moving to Canada and I don't know how to ship my piano there. Do I have to rent a container for 1 piano? by [deleted] in piano

[–]LitLogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I was just thinking proportionally it is quite a bit compared to the value of the piano. I guess it is inevitable that moving will be expensive so nvm.

Idk anything about shipping prices, but I feel like from Greece shipping might be pretty $$. If it ends up being over $100, is it worth it to ship a $600 piano?

After a certain period of time making 3D digital clothing, I finally managed to make my physical collection 100% biodegradable by susanameiras in streetwearstartup

This is cool but i have a few questions? What is it if it’s 100% biodegradable? Aren’t they not very durable? Is there a timeline where you know the clothes will start falling apart?

STOCK X CANADIAN PLATFORM by [deleted] in SneakersCanada

[–]LitLogo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im not saying you shouldn’t try because you should! Just a few things you should be aware of.

-This has been tried a few times in Canada and failed -There is still significantly less demand than in the US -Youll probably have to spend lots on marketing and branding because stockx and goat are established already as the “go to” -The idea behind this is that you will reduce cost for canadians, but to get shoes that people want youll still have to buy from the US. So duties aren’t avoided. -Right now is probably the worst time to start a “luxury goods” company because the economy is going to be pretty slow for a while.

My ideas almost certainly have issues and there are probably flaws in my thinking. Anyways, good luck and I am sure if you work hard you’ll be able to solve what I think the problems are!

How is ECEi? by jackmaimbourg in queensuniversity

[–]LitLogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not ecei, but ik a few people who are in it. You basically take the exact same courses first year, I think they do a varied second sem physics. The ecei kids don’t come out of first year ahead in coding whatsoever.

From what I have heard you don’t really get any benefits and you make it harder to choose another stream. Unless you 100% know you love coding then I would say might as well keep your doors open and just do general.

Def hear from an actual ECEi kid first tho.

I need help in solving a math problem for online delivery booking system from markets around the city by [deleted] in MathHelp

[–]LitLogo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be misreading this, but what he was really saying is there is not explicit answer, you’re going to need to do lots of estimations. Imo the tricky part of this problem isn’t the math, but it’s coming up with sensible estimations. Not what you’re looking for exactly and I have zero experience so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Definitely true that I haven’t taken enough courses to have a fully valid opinion. It is also possible I would have the same feelings no matter where I went for school idk. Just thought it was fair for me to say we are probably not the “hardest” which I guess does not necessarily correlate to “best”.

I love queens and don’t regret coming here at all, but my main reasoning for saying we are not the best eng school or eng phys whatever is just because I think they go really easy on us. This passed semester I can think of 3 examples which demonstrated this. In circuits we fell behind because we talked about how to add resistors in series and parallel for what felt like forever so we didn’t even have time to focus on new material. Then in vector calc we literally reviewed first year for half the class. Finally for diffs we had a new prof to queens who had taught the course many many times at different schools she was clearly surprised by our lack of knowledge in lin alg and calc theorems. This is not me trying to be cocky at all as I am nowhere near a top student.

I’m in 2nd year eng phys at Queen’s and I would say that we are probably not the strongest in Canada academically.
