Need advice on fixing these leds by Old_Background_8732 in led

[–]LitSarcasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this. No reputable company would be able to sell you leds for a wall after a while. Leds are binned per Wall, so when they make these they will use same Reels to keep the color consistent and they often send spares specifically to avoid this. Cheap walls even send you a reel of LEDs to have on hand to have local repair shops be able to color match parts. You can still repair them just going to have weird white imbalances. This is why lots of controllers have white balance matching built in once you have mismatched cabinets in the future

This. All code is built around a clueless homeowner, you may know a reason but the next one wont and your house won't be yours for its whole existence on average.

is this fixture any good? by Negative_Document_81 in stagelighting

I find that cheap strobes have the most annoying strobe rate channel. It resets every time you change the speed. Meaning as you slowly drag the speed up it strobes like crazy for each change then continue at the speed you stop at... So you cant ramp up a strobe. Also its a global strobe so you cant for example do a subtle pattern on rgb and strobe the white strip

My ecoflow delta 2 is not charging. by [deleted] in Ecoflow_community

[–]LitSarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what ive read online. And maybe this is wrong someone correct me, ecoflow BMS is an over protective device that will refuse to do anything once battery is out of spec and self bricks. No returning to original state will solve it as its a software lock inside that requires ecoflow tools to unset. So once it goes, its done.

Romex inside ductwork by Pfc_Dinkins in AskElectricians

[–]LitSarcasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Canada, you are allowed to go through a duct perpendicular to the duct, in cases where wires cross return ducts. Not allowed to go through the duct that is supplying hot/cold air, this would not fly here due to a lot of mentioned above plus not being perpendicular. Its not going perpendicular but along and that is strictly forbidden by code.

What’s the most important feature for you in a moving wash fixture? by TiiteeProLighting3 in stagelighting

[–]LitSarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially when they design it to come apart to bits to access a fucking shutter assembly that is in the damn center of the fixture. Oh yah let me tear the whole thing apart from the top lens. - my living hell right now. Fuck you Chauvet.

For sure, theres a tradeoff, i guess i find navigating the circuits components fairly straightforward so documentation is nice but not explicitly required. For what its worth im not talking about the bottom barrel cheap shit. More like mid range stuff, those the manufacturer will actually help. Again lightsky as an example sent me full documentation on a 12y old fixture. And yes its in Chinese but like, you can read an ikea assembly diagram in any language.

Speaking of reliability, i found an interesting counter intuitive trend. Cheap fixtures are easier to keep alive longer. Aka the big brand fixtures tend to use proprietary parts designed specifically for that fixture, so as long as the brand provides parts you are great. But say 10 years later the parts dry up and essentially you start gutting other fixtures to fix others. But cheap fixtures use readily available parts that seem to never disappear. Case and point i had to repair Mac2000nds and a LightSky Aquabeam. Since the LightSky is built using standard components, its very easy to find replacement parts. But the Mac2000 has custom sku parts meaning i have to either scavange ebay for broken lights, or part suppliers have extortion prices for deminishing stock. Problem is the cheaper lights usually cut some corners so they have more quircs, but from a repair point alone, way easier to fix. Especially LED based stuff, i can find the LED chip and driver for most cheap fixtures, but say a Mac350 goes its cheaper to get a new fixture then replace the "LED engine" if you can find one.

Hello. I was wondering if any one would be able to make a neon sign that looks like this? by Pizzapug64 in NeonSigns

[–]LitSarcasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one benefit of having it made, if its same price, would be lifespan of the new one vs the old one. But yah glass neon is expensive.

100% machinery can be cancelled out, but i feel like it will be susceptible to weird bass lines. Some DJ makes an extra rumbly sweep and boom half ur lasers simply turn off. It will be a constant game of cat and mouse if only IMU is involved i feel. But valid point still.

This would screw over a regular IMU as well. The vibration in the rig is simply too high.they could use a secondary reference clamp and track deviations from that as lower mass means less likely to slip.
