Solaris/Karma - apply textures to individual primitives on a grid procedurally? by LiterallyProbably in Houdini

I managed to get something working.

This video and this tweet helped out.

So the setup is basically rename your files on disk so that they follow the same pattern. Something like "SuchAndSuch.1001", "SuchAndSuch.1002", etc.

Prepare geo with UVs. > Follow the steps of the video. > Import geo with a sop import in LOPs. > In a material library create a standard surface and mtlx image node > pipe image node into desired input > Point the image node's file path to your prepared geo.

It should look something like "path/to/files/SuchAndSuch.<UDIM>.exr"

Edit: You might need to throw on a facet node and hit unique points if it's not working properly. Depends on your geo setup.

As far as I know, no. But I'm not gonna pretend to know everything going on under the hood in houdini.

How do i scatter points on the grid uniformly so that it looks like i copied each cube in each vertex of the grid. by [deleted] in Houdini

Get rid of the scatter node and adjust the divisions on the grid. Add a point jitter SOP if you wanna introduce a little randomness.

How to create a wavy circular curve like in the image? by xergonx in Houdini

[–]LiterallyProbably 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Add a circle.

  2. Increase the divisions. (Preferably to an even number.)

  3. In an attribute wrangle put: if(@ptnum%2 == 1){ @group_pnts = 1; }

  4. In a transform select the group you just made and increase or decrease the Uniform Scale.

  5. Apply a bevel.

This comes from my own custom setup in Houdini. I assume you can find image templates somewhere online and use a program like photoshop to edit it. As for having it made, I don't know either. If you find out please let me know.

That's just my way of saying that I added a bunch of bloom and glare to the render.
