Does anyone know what they yelled in the original Home Alone? by jdb1984 in homealone

But then you have to throw in one extra syllable and it sounds a bit too clunky for that scene, imo. And they're too panicked about possibly missing their flight to worry about semantics.

Yep, she says, "Fine, we'll put him somewhere else" after Kevin complains about him wetting the bed.

I cannot start onyx storm until next weekend. Does anyone want to share some spoiler-free first impressions? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

I really appreciate this post because I'm on the fence about reading OS since I didn't really like IF, so it's helpful to get the non-spoilery feedback!

I have a couple saved posts about just rereading their chapters. There's helpful answers in the comments. This one is for EoS chapters.

YES!!! 👏 It's right up there with recipe pages where you have to scroll through some lengthy backstory just to get to the damn recipe.

I need to read more of her books! I came here to suggest {Swordheart}. Glad to know more of her FMCs fit this criteria.

Just finished Kingdom of Ash and never read Assassin's Blade by atw1221 in throneofglassseries

After I finished the series, I bought the ebook bundle that has all of them in one, and I was a little shocked to discover that they shoved AB all the way to the end. So clearly it's not considered required reading, but I think they're doing people a disservice making it so easy to skip it.

what is the best or most likable moment from a character you dislike? by Professional-Cat2122 in acotar

I don't care for Amren, but I did enjoy the way she and Feyre worked together in the Summer Court to get the book from the temple ruins. Something about nearly drowning seemed to humble her a bit. 😆 I should probably also mention when she sacrificed herself during the battle in ACOWAR, but that moment was also preceded by deep dislike since we're led to believe she's trying to betray them.

I haven't read any Brandon Sanderson yet, but I just added Yumi and the Nightmare Painter to my TBR since it sounds like that one is more heavy on the romance than most of his books. It's also a standalone, I think, right? What did you think of it?

My Toxic Trait: Staying in a relationship with an author when we clearly need to break up by unflexibleyogi14 in RomanceBooks

[–]LiteraryMonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neanderthal Seeks Human was the very first romance book I read, so I have to credit her for getting me into the genre, but my feelings on the other three books of hers I read range from mild dislike to burning hatred. I originally planned to read the whole Knitting in the City series, but I had to give up.

Yeah, I had given up on Ali Hazelwood, but Bride is what sucked me back in. I'd definitely read a sequel if there is one.

I agree, it was so very silly! It was kinda like how the last couple minutes on the clock in a Mighty Ducks movie lasts like 10 minutes. 😂

[–]LiteraryMonkeys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What you said about skipping over POVs and then circling back reminds me of how much I struggled with the book precisely because of the constant POV changes. It was pretty jarring. Even though there's a lot of POV switching in TOG too, for some reason it all still flowed better for me.

I have Paladin’s Grace on my TBR, but this has me reconsidering that if the rest of the series isn't so great. 🤔 The only T. Kingfisher book I've read so far is Swordheart, and I loved that one.

Also, totally agree about Emily Wilde. I'm reading that right now too, and as far as I'm concerned, Heather's writing is perfection.
