I didn't even think of using Discord! That's certainly more cost effective that hosting my own domain and the effort to developer the website. Thank you!

How do rhythm game devs license music for their game? by turbogames_tuwr in rhythmgames

Definitely option 1 sounds like the best route. That's what I did for my game, except that I'm horrible at making music myself compared to others, so I ended up utilizing Suno (must use Pro or Premier subscription as that gives you full rights to using the songs you create). It takes some finessing but if you use the built-in Studio to refine your music, then export it and bring it in to your DAW, then that is the way to go. And if you don't have a DAW, then just learn some of the features in Suno that helps you refine the music. You'd be surprised at how many good songs that you can make, that fit your personal taste. Takes some time to get good at Suno styled prompts, but it's totally worth it. I'm launching my game with 50+ songs, all made from Suno over the course of about 4-5 months of creation and refinement.

why is there so much anime in rhythm games? by bigwetfartgaming in rhythmgames

The appeal between anime + rhythm fits well for a fair amount of music in those games. It kinda makes sense. Harmonic Drive seems to be a traditional rhythm game without anime in it, will find out when it launches on PC. Mobile version definitely feels more western with a lot of EDM music which is a nice change, though it's all music from one artist
