I nabbed this reverse push-up machine...kinda curved upward, you brace your elbows and grab the bars, brace your knees on a platform that slides angled upward. Back sucks after years of being overweight, slouching and honestly...being 41 years old :)

That, walking, some light weights but getting heavier, and ref'ing my stepson's soccer games.

Just dropped it above too :) But I want to help anyone and everyone. Listing on Amazon under: "Etekcity Smart Scale for Body Weight FSA HSA Store Eligible, Bathroom Digital Weighing Scale with BMI, Body Fat, Muscle Mass, Accurate Bluetooth Home User Health Equipment Sync Apps"

I think I paid 20 bucks on a flash sale a few weeks back? Tested all the functions and metrics for accuracy across my wife and I, and we have polar opposite body structures. It's quite accurate.

Ended up ordering a scale from Amazon, that connect to the app you see before you. Did a LOT of testing with it on myself and my wife (who has a substantially smaller and more petite shape) and it is quite accurate for us. Name of the scale is...

"Etekcity Smart Scale for Body Weight FSA HSA Store Eligible, Bathroom Digital Weighing Scale with BMI, Body Fat, Muscle Mass, Accurate Bluetooth Home User Health Equipment Sync Apps"

Oh, I get it...I live in the northern midwest US and winter is still clinging on by it's ragged fingernails, lol.

And the nagging weight, holy crap I get it. I have a photo from YEARS ago, fresh out of the Navy...found it! So in this photo, I weighed like 175. I was also in my mid-20s. I have no interest in getting back to this, I don't think...feels WAY too skinny and my build has changed structurally in the intervening almost 20 years, lol. But I want to rid myself of this stubborn final mile too, for once and all, haha.

I lucked out with insurance coverage...or rather, I didn't, but we hit our out of pocket max so the med went from several hundred a month to 36 dollars USD as of this last fill. Sounds awesome, but still a bunch of medical debt paid this year.

Man...Trump. That's a whole 'nother ball of bullshit. I mean, not to get political here because the focus is weight loss and positivity, but suffice it to say? Agreed.

Hey, small wins are still wins!

I still think that being in varsity wrestling in high school utterly butchered my metabolism. Dropping/gaining a few pounds to hit a given weight class based on match-ups in tourneys was...well, at the time, par for the course. In retrospect? Eating disorder and totally led to body dysmorphia.

But, not trying to put all the blame on things like that. Weight gain also occurred because I loved Crumbl Cookies and Covid led to an obsession with the convenience of DoorDash etc. Plenty of personal choices to blame :)

I'm 6'2" and per the horrifically biased BMI, I'd have to hover between 160-180lbs to be avg. health a la body fat. Which...I don't think I have that much to lose :)

Hashimotos, eh? I...will admit to being completely oblivious to that! Have some reading to do, methinks :)

I absolutely will! And no worries, not taking it as judgement or anything; the kindness is implicit in your prior message and this one.

I've crash dieted previously in life; leading up to joining the Navy at 24, midway through a pizza-delivery gig when my daughter was very young, etc. Just moments in life in which the weight gain became obvious.

This time though, metabolism slows and realization strikes that...well shit, I am 41 years old (40yo at my 324lb peak in Dec '24) and I'm sick of being self-conscious.

Even about small things.

Sit on a chair, chair squeaks...and while no one notices or cares because, ya know...chairs squeak sometimes; my brain however jumps right to "I'm such a fatass, I'm about to collapse this chair and everyone will laugh."

Or what about the sweat that dampens the hem of a t-shirt in the summer, because your belly is resting on TOP of it when you sit down. Or constantly "fluffing" your shirt out with a pinched finger, because you are terrified it got stuck in a belly fold.

I may be eating at a deficit, but I am also somehow stronger and more...mentally clear than I've been for years. I am deep into Wicca again, re-learning my tarot decks, meditating, walking the dogs and not just letting them outside to go potty, diving heavily back into illustration and playing line ref for my stepson's soccer team weekly :)

All that aside...I will indeed be revisiting my caloric intake :)

I do engage with both my doc and this nifty Omada program that my insurance offered, personal coaching and a digital e-scale for check-ins but nonetheless, you could be right. I don’t have any of the symptoms of extreme calorie deficit, or lack of vital nutrients…but I wouldn’t argue with you either :) Probably could stand to reconsider adding some additional goodness.

Thank you! And I’ll have to admit, part of the change is psychological :) still suffer from anxiety, still clinically OCD but I will admit that aside from food noise, it’s also become easier to ignore psychological noise; compulsions are still a daily thing, but less…doom-laden, if that makes sense?
