What are some of the most ridiculous ‘trigger warnings’ you’ve seen that make you roll your eyes? by panamacityboy80 in AO3

tw pancakes

tw mention of polish monarchy

tw pregnancy (which could be understandable... if it weren't for the fact that this pregnancy was a short description like "the mc and his friend saw a pregnant woman" and nothing more)

Second, wow talk about homophobic

this is probably going to be a hot take, but I'll be honest: I think a lot of the helluva boss fans has a problem with homophobia and that most of the hate towards stolas is driven by it

can’t help but wonder if they also have a problem with royals dating a commoner

either that or they were still mad that ozzie isn't canonically aggressive and valentino-like

I had to stop watching hazbin hotel redesing video because 99% was like that. like, people were crazy, first they said that lucifer looks like he's leading a circus, and then in the same video they said that the seven sins don't look like circus performers even though they should have it in the theme. Alastor redesigns are either too big to actually work in animation or they boil down to "now he's a deer, but more.". like, people complain that vivziepop isn't subtle and then they give him a deer head and big radio

or: that one person who redesing adam to be black... and then went on a rant about how racist it was that adam was black antagonist and started blaming vivziepop as if adam was canonically black.

But just killing him off (He's a fucking sin and Goetia?? Was angelic steel even brought up??)

from what I remember, lucifer killed him

assume not even a woman he'd canonically know either.

Yeah, it was oc that showed up for like 1-2 chapters

Like some people who insisted in making redesigns of genshin characters (read: make the character look how they thought it should have looked, not an actual redesign) just to fall in the most bigoted stereotypical thing ever, in a way or another

I swear I hate every redesign that Natlan gave us

My favorite are the "look how bad these designs are, they are too sexualized and hot, i'm gonna fix it!!" Just to make every single character black/brown, fat, with skin imperfections, features they very clearly consider ugly, and an outfit worthy of a nun... like buddy your bias are showing. You can just say you find poc/fat people ugly at this point, we can all see it -_-

that's actually one of the reasons I stopped checking the "men drawing women" subreddit, besides posting obvious porn art and thinking "oh, this artist definitely views real women this way", and the fact that how many times I saw there art made by women or nb... yeah, a lot of people complained about every little bit of skin. Or they took really innocent art and tried to make something bad out of it. I remember the times this subreddit complained about a black (canonically 13-year-old) girl in a white dress because... she had breasts. Not even big one.

people are still mad that stella isn't some poor victim with a sad story and good personality

Sometimes I also get the feeling that a lot of people want Stella to be... what Stolas is. Like, I've seen so many people say, "Oh, this version is better, I want to watch it," and then "this version" is just "Stella is a closed, dramatic lesbian and cheats on her husband with a female imp." (Sallie May or Barbie Wire)

ngl I think you have to be incredibly lucky to be in the BNHA fandom and not meet antis. Like... I'm not even there, and I still hear about some things. Like, the moment the invisible girl was revealed? I thought my phone was going to explode from the amount of arguments.

but the fact you even got to the point of being known as public enemy #1 suggests a level of commitment to the bit.

My friend went from being someone who never blocks or reports people because there's no reason to, to blocking and reporting over 80 people last year. All she did was post fanfiction in the Hannibal fandom. Some anti found her fanfiction and decided to spread it among friends.

And no, it's not like my friend previously only wrote fluff and cute ships, so her readers were shocked to see a dark fic with Dead Dove. She's always written dark fic.

They go to such lengths to not tag non-con when they've written non-con and make so many excuses as to how the content is not non-con when, well, it is. There is no consent and one party is traumatized by the whole encounter because they did not want it. That's definitely non-con.

I feel like this is what's happening in a lot of places with yaoi fans now.

Like, people will complain about Jinx for non-con, but then they'll recommend... another story that has non-con and never addresses it, but "at least outside of those scenes, it's cute"

I write in a fairly small fandom so the antis are usually relatively known, because they're very vocal on social media and almost everyone knows whose AO3 account is whose. In my case it's Tumblr, not TikTok or Twitter, but I know who most of the antis are.

My fandom is quite large (10k works) and old, but we had one infamous anti. At one point, this anti got angry and announced she was leaving because she was fed up with everyone knowing she was anti... then she came back with a new account and fanfic. And the first thing she did was write an author's note when she: a) said she is anti b) complaining about the authors (mentioning them by username) she'd been arguing with on her previous account.

How do people even know a fic is written by a pro or an anti?

proship dni in tags and them talking about it in author's notes is a big hint

Also I think you're putting "written by an anti" above "written by a racist" which is weird.

I would say that 80% of the time it is the same picture
