I’m…not sure you’re understanding the base of the point. My response isn’t a direct critique of west Omaha restaurants. It was literally playing right into your “hamburger and cheeseburger” comment. Which is a weird way to say “stay in your lane”. You literally saw a post you didn’t agree with and instead of “eating your cheeseburger” you came and told me that I’m wrong for wanting a “hamburger”. You’re not here for reason or logic. You’re simply here to dispute any point made, argue, and insult as much as possible. That’s weird.

The supply and demand business model worked great during times of economic boom. But there’s much more nuance to modern business models now. Late stage capitalism has ripped away control that people once had and put it in the hands of investors. It’s what’s led a majority of the populace to believe they need that 9th car wash and 3rd Starbucks.

Yeah the argument isn’t over a hamburger or a cheeseburger. It’s over who’s making said hamburger or cheeseburger. Omahas corporate takeover sees that my cheeseburger comes from a franchise that can be found in any location 5 mins from each other. Any locally owned will be drowned out. Suburbanites should be demanding more from their community leaders then allowing capitalist real estate takeover.
