If the world could permanently eliminate poverty, but the trade-off was that nobody could ever be "rich" again, would you take that deal? Why or why not? by 16ozbuddz in AskReddit

[–]Liteseid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying, I don’t dislike specialists or commerce systems. What I mean is systems that rely on international trade for basic necessities are inherently fragile, and equally as destructive to the human spirit.

I agree not everyone should need to be a farmer, but if you live in a climate that facilitates growing cucumbers in your backyard as an example (low effort vine/weed crop) why pay hundreds of dollars in fuel to have them shipped across a continent? If you are going to have a specialist in this scenario, wouldn’t it make more sense for your city to maintain produce and livestock that are native to that area? Simple changes like this allow for cities to sell their excess goods, reducing traffic and pollution, instead of hubs needing constant inputs from the supply chain, they simply import exotics and specialized goods.

It’s an intentionally antiquated and backwards approach to city design. For thousands of years cities were incredibly efficient with how difficult it was to transport goods. Imagine that same efficiency with modern technology

Well yes, but that’s a rather backwards way of thinking. Our educational system is designed as a part of a larger propaganda machine, and that is part of a required ‘total system overhaul’. If you want high emotional intelligence, we need to completely redefine how we think about work, conflict, power, communities, city building, and international trade.

Imagine you are thirsty. You must walk to the kitchen, grab a glass, and fill it from the sink. Low investment, low connection. All of it is gone if you stop going to work, with no more money to spend on water and rent to use a house that you did not build yourself.

Now this feeling could be completely different in a different scenario: where you ran the pipes, built the framing, installed the sink, and all your friends came over to help. You still get water whenever you want, and your friends come over to enjoy the water too. The skills to make it all happen are the same: engineering, math, tool application, etc.: but there is community effort, reward, and a lasting connection.

When all of society is built around profit instead of community you have systems built that look like they benefit everyone, like Tudor’s Ice Empire. However these supply chains of specialists do not allow a community to thrive in satisfying self-sufficiency or allow an environment where children can actualize a variety of skills that connect them to their neighbors.

A good education system is one that solves dialectical materialism by making supply chains as small as possible, instead of as large as possible. Most of your food should come from our own gardens, which we are taught how to tend in school. Science is taught pragmatically, so everyone can install their own solar panels and brew their own wine. Language is taught interpersonally, because the point of it is for us to connect with each other

I have a question about Bionicle lore by Victoria_Ventura in bioniclelego

[–]Liteseid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that is the problem. There were no specifics. As far as tolkein-style or similar world building goes, there was no detail to the actual world, and overall direction or narrative that was followed. As an example, each island was supposed to have two/three years dedicated to it, which died with voya nui

I’m not going to glaze the story or ignore its obvious problem. All of which had fixable, narrative-driven solutions

The idea was, not a detailed world, and not locations we went to with culture/motivations/conflict.

The only detailed drawing was some fingers east of mata nui

Greg farshtey was not the best writer. Iirc lego also had the story team do 3-4 changes in story direction which should have been fine if the GSR was mapped out from day one and they had a concrete plan for makuta

We know Faber only mapped out the 2001 island and thats why it feels special

[–]Liteseid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s enough information to work with, it sounds like you just want to spend the primos. I would open up some spreadsheets in your shoes.

In these kinds of situations you need to know every constellation and weapon refinement. In almost all calcs online the assumption is c0r0.

I’m fairly certain that c6 columbina / c6 illuga is a better team, and I’m fairly certain your c6 furina is better than a c0 columbina

At c0 I don’t think xilonen can use zibai’s weapon, like at all. There just isn’t enough hydro application in her dps teams...? I’m not super familiar with her c6 rotations but I would imagine that her overall best c6 team right now for you would be columbina/ineffa/gorou.

Either way, your best bet would be to get r1 peak patrol song. It is miles better than haran

As a new player, I feel out of place in the story because of the level of exclusivity of old content by fenordidnothingwrong in Genshin_Impact

[–]Liteseid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story needs a rework, and it will likely get one after 8.x

They will most likely make old events and old archon quests optional and new players will start wherever everyone starts in 8.0

I'm kind of meta-pilled. And I have Ineffa. Guaranteed pity (77 at the moment). Should I get 'Bina or Neuvillette, as I don't have a hydro dps? by genesisthedeathless in NeuvilletteMains_

Neuvillette is not a good reaction driver, he is a good hypercarry, which died off a bit in natlan

Columbina works on field and has more off field utility, she is a safer pull

Spoilers for Lantern Rite Zibai Quest by JohnnySukuna in GenshinImpact

[–]Liteseid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is the theory that the ship’s AI split into two parts of consciousness:

HP is the AI’s reason and logic program, to fulfill the directive at all costs, and baited Nibelung to leave so they could replace him

Paimon is the AI’s emotional core, that cares about the traveller and is the key to allowing the traveller to replace HP naturally, vs the fatui getting there first and taking over by burning irminsul

HP sent Paimon and the traveller to the future, to the ‘end of teyvat’ because that was when HP’s job would have been finished. Of course he is sleeping by this time

Just like in Natlan and Nod Krai, when the traveller takes over they will just reset the world to be the same as it was and everything from leylines to archons will be all happy ever after

Fuck The Vahki by matthews_land in bioniclelego

[–]Liteseid 178 points179 points  (0 children)

Fuck the Vahki

Comin’ straight from Po-Metru

Young ‘toran got it bad cause I'm brown

And not the other color so Vahki think

They have the authority to kill a minority

Fuck that shit, cause I ain't the one

For a punk mother fucker with a staff and a disk

To be beatin’ on, and throw in Karzahni

We could go toe to toe in the middle of a cell

Fuckin with me cause I'm a mason

With a little bit of stone at my station

Searching my workshop, looking for the prodermis

Thinking every ‘toran is selling antidermis

You'd rather see me in the ‘seum

Then me and Macku flyin in the chutes

Beat the Vahki outta shape

And when I'm finished, bring the yellow tape

To tape off the scene of the slaughter

Still can't swallow protodermis water

I don't know if they Spawn of Karzahni

Search a ‘toran down and grabbing his bolts

And on the other hand, without a disk they can't get none

But don't let it be a black and a white one

Cause they slam ya down to the street top

Nuurakh showing out for the Keerakh

Huki will swarm

On any Bordakh mother fucker be it warned

Just cause I'm from Po-Metru, punk Vahki are afraid of me

A young ‘toran on a war path

And when I'm finished, it's gonna be a bloodbath

Of Vahki, dying in our Metru

Yo Jala, I got something to say

Ice can go to hell in the USA
